state22 - I've been to both. Boracay is more compact. And more happening and international. Beach is beyond lovely. I liked Redang for its snorkelling, but nothing much beyond that.
My in-laws have been to Boracay, and nearby Panglao Beach in Bohol. They said they find the latter better. However, Boracay accordingly feels like it has a life of its own. It's got its own pull factor. Night life. Happenings. Gigs left and right.

Friends recommended staying at one of the hotels in Station One (there are 3 stations in Boracay, numbered accordingly).

-->HmMmMm
hi, let me noe yr feedback for boracay.
Had bought my tickets, going in May, to MNL for 4days first, then another 4days @ boracay.
Have not book hotel for boracay yet.

Is station 3 far and isolated? is the stretch of beach simliar like phuket's?
Heard is not very safe for gals to travel to Php alone?

SIN to MNL
MNL to Boracay
Boracay to MNL then back to SIN.
all via cebuair, i think is the other airport, not clarke airport.

do u noe wat s the comfortable time allowance required ( to check out from boracay hotel/road/boat/wat other transfer??) to get u back to catican airport- to take the dom flight back to MNL?
do not want to screw up the timing,as my flight back to SIN is kinda of back-to-back from my dom flight from boracay.

What horror story?

I've flown with them once before. And quite a number of my friends have done so in the past. The only "horror stories" I've heard are occassional flight delay (~1 hr) and payment issues (credit card being rejected). Nothing else.

yup i took cebu pacific to boracay, we flew from manila to caticlan. airport is the most basic I've ever seen, but it's ok. Anyway, you should check because I heard that the caticlan airport has been converted to a 'one-way' airport and you might have to fly in (or out, I can't remember) of Kalibo.

Boracay is very worth it! Stay near Station 1 for awesome white sand!

I've been there many years back. So i'll try to recall some points.

It has a nice beach, but can be quite commercialised, i.e. many Internet cafes and shops selling gifts and accessories.
Food is still affordable.
The trip there can be quite tedious, i.e. Fly from Singapore to Manila, then a domestic from Manila to some island. From there, it's a long bus trip (1 - 2 hrs) to some jetty. From the jetty, its one rocky ride to Boracay itself on a small boat.
After all these, paradize :D

I am interested to go to Boracay this coming mid of December, anyone would like to join me?
Well, i'm still looking for more information for going to Boracay and wish that any travel agent in Singapore could provide a free & Easy package.

Seems that the package provided by PAL was reasonable. Anyone booked the package before?

Package by PAL seems reasonable but the tax is the killer. 3day package is less than 400 but the tax is about 300.

Think you could diy yourself. Recommend to travel by cebu pacific

i don't recall a long bus trip to reach the jetty from the caticlan airport. i was there last year.

i took cebu pacific from SG to Manilla and then a propeller plane (on asian spirit but now zest airways) to Caticlan .. bear in mind that all planes to caticlan are all propeller.. lol.. can be quite scary if u encounter bad weather.

after u reach caticlan u hire a motor ride that can sit abt 4-5 pax (something like tuktuk) to reach the jetty.. the ride is abt 15 mins.. and then board a boat to boracay.. the boat ride is beautiful and is abt 20-30 mins. :)

That's because you're using another way to get there. Mine is punishing :D
But at the end, it's worth it :o
