i am planning a trip for 2 in octoberto boracay.

can anyone share with me, which is the cheapest option to get there?

and if i need to fly by 2 different airlines, how much lead time i should factor in for transit?

lastly, i read there are 3 stations there, so which station is the most recommended to stay at, and also any hotels to recommend?

thanks!

need to set aside when u departure.. i see a lot of tourists who have absolutely no money left and cant go home when their flight is like in a few minutes..

the pinoy government never warn us about this when we arrived.. ****** up

its about 50 bucks sg i think. quite expensive.

i went there by jetstar and then zestair.. its the cheapest flights last year.

need 2 flights die die...its a different island.

need about 2 hours or so between flights.. but make sure of flight changes thru email as i said above.

i stayed at boat station 3.. the cheapest.. theres this famous place called dave straw hat inn..tripadvisor really recommend. its popular among tourists as is cheap and clean..i stayed there.. it was good..no tv..but there are rooms with tv.

its about 3km from 1 station to the 3rd one.. so if u dont wanna walk a lot.. stay at boat station 2.. but its gonna be more expensive.

station 1 no need to stay.. all 5 stars

The cost of my tis planned DIY for 5d4n is around hotel (SGD800+) & airtix (SGD$900-1k)

As tis is my 1st DIY trip..need advices from u all...what sld i book 1st..air tixs or hotel or together?

Btw the rates shown in asiatravel for 1rm is singles or twins? E.g shown $200/night..means 2pax stay $200/night or 2pax stay $400/night?

Boracay hailed as 4th best island in the world

The sandy shores of Boracay Island in Aklan have once again been recognized internationally, this time when Travel + Leisure Magazine ranked it as the fourth best island in the world in its annual “World’s Best Awards."

In Asia, Boracay is ranked second only to Bali in Indonesia.

The island wasn’t alone in receiving praises from the travel magazine.

Discovery Shores in Boracay was also included in the list of 10 best hotel spas worldwide and listed the best in Asia. Hotel spas were evaluated according to their ambiance, treatments, service and value.

Meanwhile, TripAdvisor.com, a travel site that collates user-generated content, ranked the island the best beach in Asia and second worldwide in their 2011 “Traveler’s Choice," which is based on reviews submitted by travelers.

“As long as you visit during dry season, you'll agree this is one of the best beach destinations in the world," said TripAdvisor.com.

In February this year, Boracay and Cebu were among the top destinations for Chinese tourists, according to the Department of Tourism.

It was the first time that Boracay was recognized by the magazine.

The survey was conducted from December 2010 to March 2011. Readers voted and decided through Travel + Leisure magazine and the TravelandLeisure.com, the magazine’s official website.

The top choices are featured in the magazine's August issue.

Islands were evaluated according to their natural attractions, activities, sights, restaurants and food, visitors and natives, and their value for money, according to the website.
