I, being a season traveller to the philippines, I'll not go to boracay. There are many resorts in the php that is better than boracay. This place is too expensive to go. Everything 'mark up' price.

yes there are many good places other than boracay. but they are all off the beaten path. ive been to most of them and have been to boracay about 5 times

i guess my bias is towards boracay, but yes it is expensive. but it is the most developed. you get what you pay for

i am just waiting now for direct flights to boracay as this will really spur up tourism there. korea already has direct flights there.

my dream is to clock out of the office friday then straight flight to boracay and be back in the office on monday.

@todayonline
just grab an airport taxi bro. it charges by the meter (yellow cab) (so no threat of being ripped off) and tell them to step on it. that is if you cant change your sked

where would you recommend then?

Bantayan island, northern tip of cebu. Or camotes island, east of cebu.

Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan ( in Mactan ),Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa in Cebu,Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa ( in Mactan ). Price is a little bit expensive but u save on travelling time. All these 3 hotels/resorts are in Mactan where the airport is. No need to spend extra $ on ferries or domestic flight.

Hi guys, do you think SGD 350 is enough for a 5/4N trip in Boracay? Inclusive of meals and water activities.

Hi, i am planning my Boracay trip for next yr March.

Have being looking at the SIN-CEBU-CATICLAN flight...

From SIN to CEBU on SilkAir

09:05 to 12:45

From CEBU to CATICLAN on Cebu Pacific

Will 1.5 hrs be enough for transit from international flight to domestic flight in Cebu International Airport ??

Any advice is welcome :):):)

Went Boracay in July 2009. The impression is that things were not expensive. Eat-all-you-can dinner buffet on the beach is S$8 only! But of course don't expect alot of dishes. Alcohol was cheap too, 1 jug is S$12 and 1 premium shooter (B-52) is S$4.

I was on a 4D/3N trip with 2 nights in Boracay & 1 Night in Manila, total spending incl. hotel + airfare = $700. Hotel was S$50/night for a penthhouse unit on Jony's Beach Resort. Can't rmb airtix cost.

Water activities are one of the cheapest I have come across after comparing Bali, Sabah, Phuket, Bintan. Jetski for an hr is about S$90 where you can ride on your own and share with your friend, no instructor. Water is calm and clear.
mile

I agree and strongly urge visitors to stop by Jonah's Milkshake near Station 1. Super nice with lots of flavours. For those who loves nightlife, stay near Station 1. Price is steeper though and Station 3 is relatively cheaper.

Last of all, please do not take flight to Kalibo. Take to Caticlan which is just beside the pier to take the short ferry to Boracay. I had no choice on my last trip because Caticlan was closed due a air craft went off track. The journey was a pain in the a$$. Land transfer from Kalibo to pier is about 1.5 hours, by the time i reach Boracay and got a resort to stay, it was 7pm. When returning, we still have to cut short our time to make allowance for the 1.5hour ride back to Kalibo. 3D/2N was simply not enough. That's why I'm going in Oct again!

I was here some 5 moths ago and the place is just nice, to top that it really is cheap too.

i was reading through a lot of travel options on the internet and a good number of people said that it would also be cool if you go down the place without any reservations as there are a lot of places to stay, and you can find the one that would really be comfortable for you.

That way, you can choose which one is near the place you want to go to at night so you do not have to take the long walk back to your place when you have already too much to drink, that worked for me, I guess.

Boracay Regency's a good choice. Some friends stayed there and they were all praises for the buffet spread. :p

Me, I stayed in its sister hotel -- Boracay Garden Resort. Got a free upgrade on check in. lolz. Service was good. Place was clean and the location was very good (right beside Shakey's Pizza).

I think Oct is considered low season.. so you should be able to get very good hotel rates (a friend got 40% discount at Boracay Regency as far as I can remember)

:Later,

hi guys...

i am looking to go to boracay.. the main reason why is to try out kite surfing...

the time frame is very flexiable...

it seems that cebu-pacific are the only ones that fly direct... right? i want to fly direct to save the hassle of getting on and off plane...

any good advise on where to stay and which school to go to take up kite surfing...

much appreciated..!!!
