Five key executives leave SingPost amid restructuring exercise

The departures include SingPost's group chief information officer and its group chief people officer.

SINGAPORE: Five key executives have left Singapore Post amid a restructuring exercise at the company.

CNA understands that the departures include Mr Noel Singgih and Ms Sehr Ahmed, group chief information officer and group chief people officer respectively.

Ms Audrey Teoh, Ms Michelle Lee and Mr Lee Eng Keat, who were chief information security officer, chief sustainability officer and head of strategy and communications respectively, have also left SingPost.

All five executives were no longer listed on SingPost's website as of Tuesday (Apr 1).

Mr Lee and Ms Teoh announced their departures on LinkedIn on Tuesday.

Ms Teoh said she was stepping away for a "well-deserved break to recharge and upskill" and that she was open to new opportunities in cybersecurity and business resilience.

In his post, Mr Lee wrote that he had "concluded my chapter" with SingPost and is moving on to "explore new opportunities".

In response to CNA's queries, a SingPost spokesperson said that the company is "undertaking an organisational restructure" that would take several months.

"Out of respect for employee privacy, we do not disclose specific details on individual personnel. Our focus remains on maintaining operational strength and sustainability while managing this process with care for our employees," the spokesperson added.

SingPost said in February that it would lay off 45 employees – primarily in corporate support units – in a restructuring exercise.

"For affected roles, the company has exhausted options to find alternative positions within SingPost," the company said then.

It added that the layoffs were "not correlated" with any previous incidents or whistleblowing reports.

In December last year, SingPost fired three senior executives after a probe into a whistleblower's report found "grossly negligent" behaviour in their handling of internal investigations.

The three executives, group CEO Vincent Phang, group CFO Vincent Yik and the chief executive of SingPost's international business unit Li Yu, have said they would contest their sackings.

This kind very common, new boss come in gonna bring in his own team and people.

Then next as part of the onboarding process, a consultancy firm will be onboarded to streamline and trim the processes from within. Set some KPI then work it out from there.

But all said, these folks probably have no experience in the business and neither do they care about the company structure. They'll just achieve the KPI stated at all any cost without thinking about the long run of the company.

End up, only the CON-sultancy firm will conclude the exercise, then say cannot achieve cause you all didn't follow what we have proposed.

Guess will take another 5 years to clean up the mess.

All sinkie names.

Really got something wrong with the amdk chairman who kicked out the sinkie CEO and CFO.

SIAS should follow up on their earlier call for independent review of the sacking.

Good thing is the board dared not openly deviate from the departed CEO's direction to sell away the Aussie business and their share price went up.

It's funny looking at the posts before mine that EDMWers support more sinkies being unemployed/ underemployed/ displaced/ forced out.

Singaporeans really deserved to be pawned and screwed.

Good luck to your children and grandchildren.

It depends on the what the context is right?

If the C suites are there just to coast along and they did not attempt to further the company's interest as per what some of the above replies have mentioned then having this AMDK who ''might'' know wtf is going kick them all out, that would have made sense from business side of things.

Of cos, it's never nice seeing fellow sinkies getting retrenched, even at Csuites level. If anything we need more of those.

Assuming they are like TikTok Chew of cos.

I want to go SAM machine buy stamp.
Around my neighbourhood don't have. I go nearest one. Don't have leh. Found out Google maps is wrong. Many SAM Machine gone but still on Google maps.

Waste my time. I go machine 2. Cannot issue stamp.

I go machine 3. Do not exist. Remove already. singpost website machines location still have leh. Never update. All the post offices also many closed down. Now all so far away. Waste one hour plus and got nothing done.

See how AXS machines still can do well and SAM fails. Pick locker doing ok. Ninja van deliveries J&T deliveries all ok, why Singpost cannot do well? Really mega epic failure organisation.
