I thought buddhist is light candle only
Never have the practice of lighting incense...

十供养. Ten offerings are common in all the three major branches of Buddhism.

Some temples keep the tradition of burning the small pieces of sandalwood as 香供. Some Shixiongs use the essential oil diffuser instead of burning incense since the sutra says "烧种种妙香".

Thig 7:2 Cālā — Māra confronts a nun who, approving of the Dhamma, approves of no one’s philosophy.

In SN 5:8, verses similar to these are attributed to the nun Sīsūpacālā.

Cālā:

Having established mindfulness,

a nun with developed faculties, (1) I

penetrated the peaceful state:

stilling-of-fabrications bliss. (2)

Māra:

“For whose sake

have you shaved your head?

You look like a contemplative

but don’t approve of a philosophy,

so why are you wandering here

confused?”

Cālā:

“Outside philosophers place

their confidence in views.

They don’t know the Dhamma. (3)

They’re not adept in the Dhamma.

But there is

the Awakened One,

born in the Sakyan clan,

a person without peer. (4)

He taught me the Dhamma

for the transcending of views:

stress,

the co-arising of stress,

the overcoming of stress,

& the noble eightfold path

leading to the stilling of stress. (5)

Having heard his words,

I dwell, delighting

in his bidding.

The three knowledges

are attained;

the Buddha’s bidding,

done.

Everywhere enjoyment

is defeated;

the mass of darkness,

burst.

So know, Evil One,

that you have been,

End-maker,

struck down.

Notes

1. This can mean that she has achieved restraint over her sense faculties, or that she has fully developed the faculties of conviction, persistence, mindfulness, concentration, and discernment. See. SN 48:10 and AN 4:37.

2. This stanza does not occur in SN 5:8.

3. In SN 5:8, this line reads, “I don’t approve of their teaching.”

4. This is the last line that this poem has in common with SN 5:8. The remainder of SN 5:8 reads:

all-conquering,

Māra’s subduer,

everywhere undefeated,

everywhere freed, independent;

endowed with an Eye

all-seeing, reaching the end of

all kamma—

with the ending of acquisitions,

released.

He, that Blessed One,

is my teacher.

It’s in his Dhamma

that I delight.

5. For an example of how the four noble truths—right view—lead to the transcending of views, see AN 10:95.

NAMO AMITUOFO 南无阿弥陀佛

"That Buddha’s light is boundless, illuminating the lands of the ten directions without obstruction. This is why he is called Amitabha."

彼佛光明无量,照十方国,无所障碍,是故号为阿弥陀。

-- Amitabha Sutra

Every thought that we conceive, our state of mind, and how we conduct ourselves in daily life, should all remain the same no matter what we encounter, because humans all live within a concept of reality.

I just did my first 烟供

The only real concern was that I was afraid that I chant too loud and wake up the entire block hahahaha.

Actually, it wasn't as scary as I thought.

I basically held 3 cones of the incense, put it in my hands, and chant "Om Ah Hum" for at least 7 times.

After that, I made a prayer in English to the Three Jewels and asked for them to bless these offerings so that all unseen beings can benefit from it.

Then just as insurance I Om Ah Hum again, then I proceed to burn the Incense Cones.

Then I light my candle, and I burn the mantra I copied 108 times, and I finished off by whispering the entire Heart Sutra,

Nothing out of the ordinary happened.
Wonder why I was so afraid to do this previously.

Just hoping that my offerings really ended up helping those unseen beings.

May I know where to buy this? Is this medicine incense?

随喜功德。Just curious, where did you do the offerings? The best time is after 5 pm. You can check whether the cone you are using contains any medicine. The 烟供香 I am using are made of many types of food and medicine.

I did in front of the shophouses underneath my HDB.
I place the cones on the floor below the metal joss paper burner (big pail), and burn them. But since after watching the Chinese video, Maybe I will put it on top instead so the smoke can travel more.

I naturally have a loud voice, if I am to speak in my normal voice the whole HDB will wake up.

To be honest, I didn't know there is a difference between food or medicine incense, I don't know what mine is.

After finishing this I will buy those containing both.

Anyway, I did further reading on smoke offering and I would like to share.

It originated from Tibetian schools of thought and is called "Sur Offering".
People who are purely and fiercely Mahayana Buddhist will stick to just offering light such as candles.

While chanting Om Ah Hum and other chants are important, one of the core components of this is to visualize the energies of the Guan Yin in your heart, and as you offer, you are replicating what the Guan Yin will do for all beings.

Lastly, I found an English prayer for Smoke Offering:
https://www.lotsawahouse.org/tibetan-masters/dudjom-rinpoche/brief-sur-offering

oṃ āḥ hūṃ

This sur offering, billowing clouds of oceanic sensory enjoyments,
I offer to the Three Jewels and Three Roots, the guests invited out of respect.

Protect me in your compassion, I pray, and cause me to complete the accumulations and purify my obscurations!

I offer to the oath-bound dharma protectors, guests invited on account of their qualities:
May you be pleased and satisfied and dispel all outer and inner obstacles!

I offer to the sentient beings of the six classes, guests invited out of compassion:
May you be free from all forms of suffering and gain immaculate bliss!

I dedicate to harmful influences, obstructing forces, gods and spirits, the guests to whom I owe karmic debts:

May all violence and malevolence be pacified and may you live happily and beneficially.

In a state of unimpeded openness, beyond any focus on the various guests in saṃsāra or nirvāṇa,

May we be liberated in the dharmadhātu expanse that is entirely free of the three conceptual spheres
.

There is a longer and more detailed version for anyone interested, but personally I wont be doing it cause I will wake up the whole HDB if i do.
