Today morning inside an mrt station, I was traveling down an escalator from second floor to the first floor.

There was a bui guy carrying a white cane (used by blind people) at the first floor next to escalator, keep asking people whether got anything drop on the escalator. He then asked me which i replied 'I don't think so'.

Upon hearing that, he started traveling the next escalator from first floor to basement. Upon reaching the basement, he kept asking around whether got anything drop on the escalator.

I happened to travel this same escalator to basement; as he was disturbing a nearby auntie with his question, i siam him successfully & boarded an mrt.

I don't know if he was genuinely blind as he was able to walk around without the stick touching the ground. I was tempted to shout "knn siao lang" at him, but decided not to.

Does anyone met such similar encounter in mrt station before and how do you respond to it?

Some blind people can even walk their regular path without a stick. Blind doesn't mean 100% cannot see. We can also walk around our house without light at night.

Next time ask how you can help him, whether he is looking for something...
Initially I thought he genuinely needed help so I looked around at the first floor escalator and replied "I don't think so" to his question of whether got anything drop.

When he next went down from first floor to basement via another escalator, & then asked the same question again to the people passing by, that's where I began to think: "oh man, is this some kind of siao lang or scam? ".

Think alot are visually impaired. Not totally blind. They cannot see that clearly, just blur image. But they can still see general objects bah. Thus the stick is there to aid them when in doubt.

Think some just hover the stick slightly above the ground, no need totally touch, to sieve out those obstacles that are slightly too high for their normal steps, which they may not be able to differentiate without a clear sight.

maybe he want someone to bend down help him search (since he "blind")
so he can take a selfie of 嘿 嘿 嘿 from behind?
Wah, i never thought of this possibility.
Heng arh. I didn't bend down. I only stand and helped use my eyes to look at the first floor escalator and the area around it to check if got any dropped items.
