Building an Adobe rig

Helping my wife to build a rig to work on Adobe graphic and video editing software. Dunno where to start... Clueless

Do i need i7, i9 or rizen? Will rizen be fully compatible?

Casing should go for tower or those mini box type?

How much is oem windows?

Graphics card must be nvidia so that can make use of cuda for video editing?

Adobe is a single core program while video editing is better with more cores. Get the upcoming 5800x or 5600x is enough. If need right now, 3800x is an okay choice.

I won't go SSD for video, I'd at least go for M.2 NVMEs.

You need a large one for scratch disk.

i started off with low end gpu with 16gb ram, then tahan a bit, slowly upgrade for there. some students they started off with apu only....the most important is on your budget...

adobe rely a lot on the gpu for rendering....but for smooth editing, u need to balance up your specs.

gpu 2060 (not so great for 4k and above), I tend to avoid radeon due to driver. If pick radeon, 5700
3200 ddr4 ram 32gb
XPG Gammix S70 m.2 nvme 500gb for OS and software (launching soon but need PCIe Gen4 mobo)
ssd 870 qvo or 7200RPM hd (ideal media storage is three to four times the expected size of a project's source footage)
psu 650watt
pure 500 case for alots of 140mm fans for ventilation

for the above gpu I intended to buy but if need more powerful gpu, 750 watt should be good, must look for at least tier 1 psu beside capacity.

For gpu what's recommended for me? I might want to do casual 3d gaming if i have to spend this much for premiere pro. Wondering what should be the best price point, as in value for money gpu.

Alternatively... I might just go towards laptop with i7, 16gb ram and nvidia gpu. The electricity bill should be much lesser than desktop i guess. Running it like 6 to 8 hours a day.

Full time. In terms of hours, video editing is like 1/5 of graphics design.

Not advisable on laptop. Someone told me recently his laptop runs pretty hot which is not a good thing for durability, i believe since all components so closely compact.

Cost for pc if bought all new items will be in the range of 2.5k.

Just set a budget and buy according to it, there's a perfect PC for every budget.

A will say ryzen5
B will say ryzen7 better
C will say ryzen9 better
D will say buy threadripper

Photoshop offload some of its functions to the GPU. So, a dedicated graphics card is needed.

Maybe get a used gpu. Cheaper. See anyone offloading their 2080 for cheap
