I see u all buy gpu very scary, easily 600 to 1k. I might have to find used one... But scared to find o/c until extreme kind. Like half life left.

its kind like a gamble. need to test it b4 u buy too. I got my GTX1070 for $180++ n is working fine till now...lucky!! performance far better than GTX 1650 n 1660.

Only can assemble used parts if you want 2070 which is about 700 for new.

I think i will go towards lower budget.

I just grab a used set of low end gpu with 4gb graphics ram.

A good GPU will shorten the time to process the video editing. Get a 2070 will be better. maybe u can get a 10gen i5(6cores 12threads) processors to maximise ur budget? Get a NVMe for hdd for faster read n write.(any brand will do)

Btw, a good PSU will be needed too. At least 500W 80+ Gold or Bronze.

Get a NVME with DRAM.

I don't need the high details in gaming. I buying dedicated graphics card only for the premiere Pro purpose.... Since it is going to be a mid range pc i might as well do some gaming, so as to maximise the use.

If assuming i don't play games, what would be the recommended card for premiere Pro? Rtx 2060?

If it's not very urgent or speedy works, 2060 would be fine, if production works etc... maybe SLI 2080.

Because 1st 3 pages no mention about budget. Always important to ask for budget first amongst all other important info like main usage of PC so that wont have to run in circles like recommending ryzen7 or ryzen9, rtx2070 or 2080 super and then going back to ryzen5 and rtx2060

Thanks for the insight. The quote i found on their website is based on promo i guess. But perhaps all year round they also have promo bah. Now i will be in touch with an sls staff based on fren's recommendation. Hopefully will be a good deal if not i think aftershock is still preferred if the price difference is only 100+ and they provides all the service n wty.

Apparently i also found a seller in carousell with a reasonable quote.. I suspect it can compete with aftershock.

(1)Motherboard wise is about pricing. Reliability...i only recognize asus.
(2)U can see slight diff but overall not recommend...i rather u use this money to get 1 tb ssd. m.2 is located beside gpu, the heat factor also affect. Then u need another hdd for storage.

(3)zotac with 5 years warranty...price $280~$320. gpu ram (vram) is very important.
2060 is pointless....
(4) is ok but i prefer quiet....fanless psu during editing..
(5) i use cable.

1) I won't be getting msi. I think their durability is only moderate.

2) i intend to stay put with my existing 1TB ssd. Not getting any more M.2

3) will search for 4gb vram used card to save money for now.


If in the past my win7 didn't activate win10 code, means i can no longer do it now? Those $10 code is legitimate or not?

Now a bit torn between Ryzen n i7. Coz build for wife. Later got wrong cpu+mobo then troublesome. As in incompatible to Adobe suite or much slower for certain tasks execution etc. But $ is quite a consideration.

I second 2060 at price of 419 new, used probably 330 to 350 depending on balance warranty.

Unlikely to go very wrong w either. Just that ryzen is the in thing for now due to pricing and x570 pcie gen4.

I saw ur budget, suggest 3600 plus a good x570 mobo for starter. Probably cost you 600 range plus for new and new 2060 at abt 400 on 11.11 sales so abt 1k . Used item - ram, psu, nvme n ssd, 180 for 32gb or 100 for 16gb with blinking blinking, 100 for 650watt and 100 for 256gb and 150 for 1tb.

Abt your budget of 1.6k, just need a new casing of abt 100plus to look nice and fresh outside



Cpu cooler use existing amd or intel for now since you dont overclock.

B550 will save you some money but not much.

Look for some home base seller on carousell platform, usually slightly cheaper except inconvenience due to picking up near their home.

Reliability come at hefty cost. For home use unlikely justifiable, only data centre and critical application with $ impact can justify.

Samsung ssd is good enough for almost all home applications.

Not sure about intel, i have been using Samsung, micron and kingston ssd across my few PCs.

If you using as external harddrive, please use it from time to time or store in dry box if unuse for long time or zip lock bag with silica gel (i store my portable drive in dry box after 2 of my hard disk failed), our humidity will damage electronic (pcb) and important file or photo always backup w cloud drive if privacy is not a major concern.
