Building my first computer(Need advice)

I just found out that gtx 1070 is about 800sgd or more. Because of that I am considering getting GTX 1060 3GB or 6GB. For my gaming needs which is actually more suited? And should I still get a 1440 ips screen or a 1080 one. And why should I get the lower tiered i5 processor than i5 7600K? Is the i5 7600K an overkill for the rig that I want?

Gtx 1070 is only priced around 369usd on amazon.

For 1080p gaming, you dont need gtx 1070. Go for gtx 1060 if you wan 1080p gaming.

For the cpu, any current i5 will fit pretty well with 1070. If you are considering 1060, i think even fx 6300 or i3 will fit perfectly well but i will still advise going for i5.

You get used to the screen. I sit at arm's length from a 35-inch screen and it is fine for me.

Do you guys have any parts price for shops in sg? I might be getting all the parts in sg. And the Nvidea GTX 1070 is a mini and I'm afraid that that might lead to future overheating problems. I'm just getting GTX 1060 and a 1080ips monitor. I'm just not sure the parts I posted originally is sold in SG. And if there are alternatives to those I posted like alternative motherboards that are similar.

If not urgent wait for end march/April.

By then amd ryzen should have started selling, can get ryzen cpu. If die also want intel then can still benefit from intel's price drop.

Also 1080ti should have been announced. Chances are 1070 prices will drop

Mini no problem. I'm using also. Overwatch on 1080p ultra gets me about 70+ degrees.

Bigger cards just allow more over clocking. Mini is made to work at stock with very little over clock headroom

theres non mini ver at 379usd but just get 1060 if you going for 1080p.

Personally i prefer smaller card coz its easier to install. heating issue nah so long u dont oc it. By the time it dies, its time to upgrade gpu.

70+ on gpu on air is not unusual and it's perfectly manageable. So long it don't hit more than 80 will do. Hence I mentioned as long as your case got enough airflow, and you don't oc your card, it will be fine. Zotac got 5 years warranty so even if it die, you'll still be fine haha

I must be unusual user. Never reach 70 range before.

Jokes aside, ya 70+ is still fine. 90+ is where things may need get a check. I'm never worried about temp when it comes to gtx series.

I'm shld be buying and getting everything done by around mid March. And I'm getting GTX 1060. Don't think I have spare time to invest as much time into this in April. But if the price drop is extremely significant(40%-50%), then I might just wait it out.

Yeah I might go to Tradepac to take a look at the prices. I'm planning to visit sls and other locations to get a list of prices of the parts I'm getting. And can I get most of the parts I want in SG? Do they have huge stocks of parts or are the parts that I want rare and I would need to wait a bit for the stock to replenish?

But produde1999 was saying that buying individual parts instead of all the parts from the same store would be the best to avoid getting ripped off. And what websites should I use? Amazon isn't really fantastic, not sure about the rest.

Pricelist can get from hwz. If scared call before u go down

Other online sites beside amazon are lazada and qoo10
