Done with some research of prices and parts with my friends and decided with these parts for the computer.

CPU: i7600K
CPU cooler: evo 212
MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX Z270E GAMING Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 2TB
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Dual Video Card
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro or some other similar case
PSU: 650W
Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 x2
Monitor:ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor

Using this build for gaming. E.g Overwatch, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and other recent games.

Are these parts compatible?

Are some of the parts overkill for the GPU and such?
Need some suggestions for these if there are more suited parts for this build.

I think 144hz monitor is overkill for the 1060, u won't be running witcher 3 at 144 fps on the 1060.
And I think WD blue is newer that caviar blue.

Do you do heavy overclock?
Corsair Vengeance LPX ram is cheaper. If can, get the 3000mhz version. Don't under utilize your mobo.
2tb storage? You need that much lol
Samsung ssd too expensive as well. PNY CS1311 or Kingston UV400 is the cheap and good kind with pretty good write endurance.
Asus Dual is expensive as well. Palit dual is cheaper. Top up a little more and get the gtx 1070 to compliment your 1080p 144hz monitor.
Get a Superflower Leadex Gold 650W.
Case decide yourself. Anything from Phanteks, Fractal Design, Corsair and NZXT is fine as long as the price and aesthetic is right for you.

My budget is 2k including monitor.

Getting i5 7600k, better to get a better cpu now so I don't have to upgrade in the future? Or do I not need to do that and just get a cheaper i5 to run my games. If so, which i5 model shld I get which is decent.

It's not recommended to get 2 tb?

Might get gtx 1070 if the parts total up to be less than 2k. But for now I'll do with gtx 1060. Which model of gtx 1070 is cheap and good?

And for monitors I don't really need to get that particular monitor. Couldn't find any other models on Amazon. Any recommendations for monitor models for gtx 1060 and gtx 1070 just incase I get gtx 1070.

And is the MOBO overkill or good enough or shld I get a cheaper one?

Don't really know what model of monitor I shld get for gtx 1060. Or gtx 1070 if I get it when the other parts fall in my budget to allow a upgrade. So I used that as a so called benchmark for this thread for recommendations.

If you get a K processor, be it i5 or i7, and you don't overclock, it is under utilized. If you plan on overclock, then get the i5 (judged based on budget).

Basics about GTX 1070 or 1060:
GTX 1060: decent for 1080p 60Hz with High and above graphical settings for most games.
GTX 1070: decent for 1440p 60Hz or 1080p 120Hz with High and above graphical settings for most games.
Best monitor for both scenario: 1080p 60Hz. Even if you get GTX 1070 on this monitor, you can argue that you're under utilizing it. But it's only for now. If you are going to continue to venture into gaming down the years and go for recent title, the GTX 1070 will be a good deal for 3 years down the road as you can still run newer title at 1080p 60fps with High and above setting even after 2 years with newer games. That's my two cents.

ASUS ROG Z270E is a very good board. Is it overkill? I can't judge. If your budget allow and you wanted good aesthetic, this is the board to go.
My take:
MSI Z270 SLI PLUS. Bang for the buck, neutral aesthetic that matches almost every build theme, support SLI.

A little bit over budget, but do google them out. I think this will make a fantastic looking and performing pc.

If you're not in a hurry, do wait for AMD Ryzen 5. You could get similar performance at a cheaper price (hopefully since Ryzen 7 is pretty competitively priced)

Gaming don't really need overclocking, but if you can pay for the extra overclocking performance (about 15% at most), do learn how to overclock then.

It's a good mobo, but at a price. That's what i think. Take the above spec recommendation as a reference only. Just to let you gauge what you will be getting and for what price.

144 Hz monitor is expensive as well. If you're insisting on the high Hz monitor, I suggest you give up on overclocking. Mobo+CPU pricing will drop a lot as locked processor and H or B series mobo are a lot cheaper.

I would rather get my rig asap and get a i5 7500 cpu. I searched it up and can't really tell what is the main difference btw ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E and MSI Pro Series Intel Z270. My main concern is whether they have inbuilt wifi cards and i am sure i saw something about sound cards in both of them.

I am willingly to up my budget to 2k+ 100-200 bucks more.

And for wins 10 on carousel, i saw one offer for 11 bucks for wins 10 and a 2 year avg anti virus sub, sounds a little too good to be true. And thing is there are multiple offers at that price. What I am recommending is to get the best value out of the money you are paying. You could always get a PCIE WiFi for any mobo if you needed WiFi.

The main difference between the two boards is branding and WiFi. Since you are willing to top up to get the ASUS mobo, go ahead. Money best spent is to make sure you get what you are satisfied with

GTX 1080 is still going to be too expensive for me, even if i go for the cheaper brands(which i don't mind at all). I don't care at all for aesthetics, only for the performance of the computer.

Yeah, at first i was thinking of getting a MOBO with wifi and sound card inbuilt alr, because if i were to buy wifi and sound card after buying a MOBO it would be the same price or more. But if it's cheaper it's alright.
