r9 280 better than the 760? The guy earlier recommended the r9 280x but idk how big the disparity is.

And I plan to put the cpu under my table so I don't think that counts as a space for the fan? I'll probably get the one recommended here at 56?

Google for r9 280 vs gtx 760 and r9 280x vs gtx 760.

Seems like the 280 will suffice for me from what I've interpreted from online comparisons. Will the b85m g43 allow me to add ram if need be in the future?

Eh? Crucial 8gb ram is not single stick? Oh ya and the power supply u guys recommended as an "ns" written beside it in the PTC Price lost ; any substitutes for power?

Counted based on the PTC price list and am at $1312 (with mx100 256gb ssd) excl power supply and peripherals right now. Will prob spend 400 on the peripherals. Was thinking of cutting from the ssd to either mx100 128gb or plexor but reviews better for the former.

Sorry again, but what do you guys think of those bundles that the shops offer? Specs are really similar, but idk if they might shortchange on the quality by giving a lower end brand.

Not good value for your $$$, as they tend to include these flaws:

1) Overkill motherboard (Usually Intel H or Z motherboards.)

2) Cheap casing (Usually the ones that are quite difficult to sell for some reasons or the very cheap generic Vios/Headway casing.)

3) Generic HDD (Not so bad since HDD nowadays are made only by WD, Seagate or Toshiba.)

4) Junk tier PSU (The more expensive ones come with FSP Hexa/CM Thunder, the dirt cheap ones come with the infamous Headway 500W PSU.)

5) Weak GPU (Not so bad for more expensive bundles, but cheap bundles may come with the HD 5450, a GPU so old, Intel HD 4000 iGPUs are actually better than the GPU.)

I personally love Logitech mice cos they fit my hand nicely. Mice is a very subjective topic. Go to some Challenger and go molest all the display mice they have and make your decision~

It's up to u really

I second this

In fact when i was there buying my parts today got customer come in complaint

Apparently when installing new mobo they couldnt get the wireless card to fit(not sure why), so they just left it out, gave him a usb one, and kept the pci-e wireless card without mentioning it to him

Keyboards are another topic with subjective opinions. Go to Cybermind or Techdrome and try out the keyboards there and decide yourself. For monitors, please don't buy monitors with a RRP of less than $200 as these monitors are usually capable of a resolution of 1600X900 only and you will not get good graphics with these monitors.

I was thinking of the Samsung S23C350H 23-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor! Alright will probably do that while waiting for PCT to assemble my com.

wanted to try assembling but decided that if I screwed it up it'll be really troublesome. Though I heard that they will just anyhow chuck the wires if they assemble for u.

Sorry for the super longwinded thread but last question (hopefullyl)

Is it better to:

1. Buy from trade pac go to Nigel's shop to assemble (since tradepac items are all packaged so they can't kaput stuff)

2. Buy from PCT and go to Nigel's shop to assemble.

3. Buy from PCT and have it assembled there.

If u want good pricing and good service, then this is the method. But, your bargaining must be good also.

2. Buy from PCT and go to Nigel's shop to assemble.

That is a dumb move as PCT is reliable. Wun kaput your items.

3. Buy from PCT and have it assembled there.

This is recommended for newbies, but dun expect the amount of discounts to be similar to Tradepac. In fact, it will be much less. You can ask PCT for quotation and compare with tradepac. But, dun let both sides know.

Refer to my answers in red.

If u want cheap monitor, go get Dell S2340L at $198. 1080p with IPS, hdmi/VGA ports, glossy screen. Cheap and good enough for basic usage.
