Up to you though coz to me, it will be quite rushy and need leave busan much earlier. And if wan do last min shopping in Seoul, need carry luggage around.

haha..i married la bro lol.

i am going to seoul earlier with another group of people...they are only going for 7 days, so once they head back to sg, my own family will stay on and head to Busan, then go back to Seoul for 2/3 days then back to sg.

i havent plan itinerary but booked return tickets as well as the first 7 days of hotel in seoul. So now have to plan on how to go to Busan, how many days to stay etc

There is saver pass for 2-5 people. if you travel with ur family, can check if the saver pass is cheaper than buying individually.

Since he just mentioned with family instead of solo traveller, then korail pass 2 days select pass may be an option as well. If so, can also check kkday or klook for deals with discount code.

i'm currently here in busan for my first korean trip.

FREAKING HOT (SUMMER FTW)

just sharing some information, hopefully it will be useful for anyone that needs it.

  • we bought the a flexible two days pass as it was the cheapest. (price increased from 18 July.)
  • we reached Incheon at 1530. We did not reserve the KTX tickets beforehand. We weren't how much time to book in advance was safe.
  • we made our way to the KTX counter and changed our tickets. earliest timing was 9.30pm onward. Friday peak maybe?
  • KTX does not operate any train services to Seoul, either we take an all stop train (1 hour) for 5k or an express train (40+ mins) for 9k.
  • we were on the train platform at 5pm, reached Seoul around 6. So 9.30 gave us some time to wander and find dinner. If there's a second time, probably an 8pm+ train would be the best.

man.. the ktx don't check passengers for tickets? technically if the train is not full, one can just pretend to have a ticket and hitch a ride for free? i'm amazed at how "open" this system is.

I searched already but cannot find.
It says SG to Busan Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat.
But I searched, don't have direct flights.
Even in the SQtalk forum ppl also asking how come don't have.
I asked SQ, they also dunno and asked me to call their call centre!

Agree! Much less crowded than Seoul and good accommodations can be booked at much cheaper prices.

They don't check the tickets most of the times but if the train is full, there is no seat. you will have to stay for 2.5hours -3 hours. Even if you find a seat at Seoul station, there are people getting on and off so you have to keep moving to find a seat. They actually know if the seats is taken or not during the ride, so if you are sitting at a seat that is supposed to be vacant. They can ask you for the tickets on the train.
If you buy the korail pass from klook, you can actually book the train tickets online and not over the counter. You can reserve tickets before you travel.
There is a lot of trains from Seoul to Busan, it should not be that hard to get seats unless there are special events or holiday.

You can use your T-money and Cashbee card in Busan too.
