I am selling them for a relative but got a few questions asking how many pcs inside. I am not an expert and don't want to misrepresent.

Anyone can help?

This can contains 4+1 pieces of blue abalone i.e. 4 whole pieces plus 1 cut piece to make up the drained weight of 255g.

Z41 = Z (blue abalone) and 41 = 4+1 pieces as shown above.

For reference, the ones sold at NTUC last year for $128 was 2+1 pieces and expire in 2015 as well. This year, NTUC is selling them at $149.80 but each can has just 1+1 pieces (i.e. the size of abalones are bigger). They expire in 2016.

Can any experts help to decipher this code for Calmex brand?

China 1 jin is also 600gram. 500gram of actual product plus 100grams of lead/ mercury/ additives.

oldendays, 1 jin is 600g

but modern china changed it to 500g

Kuomintang Taiwan refused to follow, so their 1 jin is 600g
to avoid confusion, they say 台斤 instead of 斤

so back to topic, where to buy calmex???

Can anyone decipher the code? Found it on the calmex can... PGA11-2703

Thanks!

Hmm... this is good stuff. PG is the specific location where the abalone is caught in Mexico. A = the more premium yellow abalone found in deeper waters while 11 means 1 whole abalone + 1 cut piece to make up the drained weight of 255g. Where did you see this and how much are they selling it for?

Calmex Abalone

I got this at Bishan Fairprice, $149.80 as well for 454g. So i assume it's 2 pieces for 454g?

No, 454g is the gross weight including the liquid. The nett/drained weight of the abalone (1 whole piece + 1 cut piece) is 255g. Usually, people call it 1.5 pcs though the cut piece may not be exactly half an abalone. The manufacturer will cut it to get a total of approximately 255g.

This year, I have seen Calmex abalone being sold at Fairprice (NTUC) and Giant (Vivocity) for the same price of $149.80.
