if not, then is no calmex. :D

If your Aunt bought something like below:
abalone-620%281%29.jpg

It is not calmex, it is California Mexico - short for "Mexi-cal".
Both brand having similar species of abalone caught wild off baja california. I know cause I bought 1 Mexi-cal myself at cold storage too at 88.80. Its not the original calmex but said to have same great taste and quality as calmex.

so abalone sexperts, Calmex or California Mexico better? lol :D

Hmm... this is good stuff. PG is the specific location where the abalone is caught in Mexico. A = the more premium yellow abalone found in deeper waters while 11 means 1 whole abalone + 1 cut piece to make up the drained weight of 255g. Where did you see this and how much are they selling it for?

PBZ11-14E3 $140.

Saw fu hua selling $138 per can.

Checked with Fu Hua salesperson, he said that they only have 2.5 abalone per tin this year, that's why it is 138 :(

Wonder anywhere is selling 1 or 1.5 abalones this year. 2.5 abalone per tin feels damn small

is it once u go Calmex u will never look back at any other abalone?

Try California Mexico Gold (bigger, usually less than one piece per can) or Black. They cost less and the abalones are of comparable quality. You may not be able to tell the difference if you do a blind taste testing. Try it! I switched from Calmex to this brand for many years already. All other brands of Mexico abalones I've tried cannot compare (except Calmex, of course) :s13:
