1010 should be able to fit CIEM with the aftermarket cables quite comfortably BUT the main worry for me will be the depth, whether it will be deep enough to seat the ciem units.

With 1010, u may need to squeeze a bit for the ciem. Get 1020 if possible. I upgraded from 1010 to 1040.

You can try the fitear zip-case. Although it is pricier, but you get both durability and portability. I fit my customs with Toxic Silverwidow aftermarket cables with them.

I probably won't get the 1010, maybe not even the 1020. Might be better to get a case that will fit my portable rig (instead of using separate cases), so must have space for 1 DAP + 1 or 2 iems, still not decided yet.

One option is to get the pelican case and put in a piece of foam, and in the foam, cut out different sections for iem and dap. The foam will not only be able to secure both units in place, but will prevent them from bumping into each other and can also absorb shock.

1040 or 1050 lor... I just got the 1040 and it is damn big...

Don't think it's avail locally, correct me if I'm wrong. I got mine off eBay. IMO, it is only suitable for thin stock cables. For aftermarket braided cables, doesn't fit very well.

No. It is glued onto the case.

Depends what other case are you comparing it with. The size is actually quite good. I would love it if weren't for the circular insert. It is somewhat like the size of a fitear case

I have a old UE 600 case. But it is kinda small. Have to make a 3 finger coil to fit inside the case and it barely goes in properly. Pelican case 1010 looks like it is too big just to put just an iem and it is only foam padded on the bottom.

If using slightly stiffer 3rd party cables then won't be the best imo.

SLS 4th floor near escalator corner shop saw some good sized case... Something like the Fitear size but no pillar inside. Should serve its purpose quite well. Also have slightly bigger size I think can fit in a X1, good for stiffer cables. Otherwise 1010 ftw!

With stiffer cables the compression or tension of the cable loops when squeezed inside kinda keep everything in place. Didn't take note of bouncing. Maybe have I also duno since it's inside bag lol... But so far nothing happen la . If I use stock cable I will use the Fitear case. Even if wanna put also can just fold a say A4 paper and put on top, don't really have to find foam. Or some spectacles cloth.

I also have the Westone case, no padding on top. That one normal IEM, didn't put anything on top. Standalone Sennheiser case (not bundled with IEM one) comes with a container glued to it like the one above. I ripped out the container and just use the casing bare. Momentum In-Ear case I also removed the container (not glued). All ling ling long long inside lol...

Fitear case fits FE customs + SW25.5 very well.

To me semi-hard cases that are somewhat similar to the fitear case is sufficient to protect your iems from any possible damages. Unless you carry 12kg dumbbells in your bag and place your iems below them.

Pelican cases are bull and bulky
