I am interested in CCNA course and found these informations.. would like to ask the expert here for guidiance,,

Learn by your self.

CCNA is easy .You can download some learnig guide .like <<sybex ccna 7th ediition>>

For CCNA level you don't need real routers and switches.you can just use the emulator ,like GNS3 or dynamips.

New Horizons has a promo for CCNAX for $1,950 this Sitex. Anyway, anyone taken CCNA at GlobalKnowledge before?

Why not ? U just need to go to one of the testing centre to book . But fyi , CCNA is not in the citrep list iirc...

I did not attend CCNA before but I attended courses at NTUC and NH before.

NTUC gave the impression of half way. It is like a glass fill with water, is it half fill or half empty feeling. Maybe I am unlucky to meet part time trainer. One for MCSA (3 month courses) and CISSP (5 days courses).

NH gave the impression of rundown area if you been there before. Maybe I am lucky, I met a good trainer. He has been questioning every one as and when to ensure every one is paying attention and absorbing the knowledge. But the course is too dry without much hands on (CEH is the course). Maybe it is how the CEH structured.

Just a heads up, there is a very very good trainer for NTUC on cisco if you are lucky. The name is SOH. He has never taught me but I received feedbacks from my fellow paper chaser-ers and the rating is 4 star out of 5.

Just another heads up, there are food catered in NTUC for "early breakfast" and "tea break". NH has biscuits and instant packet (3-in-1 coffee) only.

don't bother about strawasia.org, they don't keep their promises and staff onsite were rude as well. they have been reported to CASE.

I did attended their seminar before and I find it very informative. Their lady instructor really explains very well the topics even though its free.

oh i think you went to different place. the one i am talking is not strawasia.org its strawberry asia. I'm not sure whether they are same.

I am now in NTUC under Soh... he is goood but tends to off topic and talk about current affairs and non-related issues. Then he is quite strict also.

I went NH before too... I took the ECSA/LPT and the Pinoy just read from the slides. Perhaps it is a course solely on theory. Air con is damn cold but he can answer all questions

Hi, go to NTUC Next U at Bras Basah. Their exam center at level 3, NTUC Trade Union House offer 50% discount on CCNA exam voucher if you are an NTUC Member or signup for NTUC Membership at their counter.

Another place that you can try is Ipassions. They are a newly startup and seems like using real life equipment for their students that can have hands on... i mostly checked on whether the students can hands on the equipment and the training hours before i sign up for their course and it seems that most of the centers only use remote labs or their equipment stacked in a rack

agree with you on the lectureer reading from slides.. and he zooms like rocket.. super fast.

NH have a super gd lecturer Steve Loh teaching cisco. you can always ask for him. be warn he will ask you questions.

Also agree that Soh is good. Maybe is good that he side tracks abit to bring the dryness away from the lesson.

but i find the setup of the equipment is quite a hassle. we had to literally lay two wire (1 straight, 1 crossover for console) from our PC to the rack everytime to need hands-on seession.

and not to mention, the process of recovering the cables after the lesson. kind like a plate of fried been hoon. and the trouble of untangling urs from the whole big bunch of cables at the rack.

during my poly time, there is a terminal server connected to a group of routers & switches. and we access it via the IP of the server and individual router or switch by its "hostname".
