Hi all , in my resale 3 room HDB flat the current owners has a celling fan with light
, they did not install other additional lights
. A noob qns, I’m thinking if the moving fan blade would cause shadow effects for the light?

I don't recommend putting lights above the ceiling fan's blade.
The "blinking" effects once you turn on the fan, you will get a headache for sure

I see, that doesn't sound very good. :(
I can only go for bladeless fan, as wife is a bit fear of blade fans, so its either bladeless ceiling fan or no ceiling fan at all.

Better than nothing though...
It's just expensive and not that good (for that price anyway)

Update : yes - the fan only support proprietary Panasonic app on ios/android.

App only available in msia app store, but luckily can download by registering malaysia apple account or thru apk sideloading

I've no idea how to check. There is an tiny led at the end like a TV remote.. that means IR right?

But when I pointed the remote away from the fan and press the button (e.g light), the fan received the signal though.

Cover the light emitting end or stand somewhere you cannot see the fan, e.g. close the room door if the fan is inside the room.
If you can still control the fan, it's RF. If you cannot, then it's IR.

Pointing away is not reliable because there could be objects that reflect IR signal sufficiently.

Don't rely on the LED at the end, I have remote controls where the LED at the end is just an indicator that the button received the press.

Thanks. I can confirm its IR remote as the fan did not respond when using remote behind closed door.

BTW the wifi connection is between fan & router so u can remotely control the fan from anywhere. Require pairing with a user account (protected by user ID & pwd) so other ppl cant hijack ur fan haha.

Hi, I think you will have better luck sourcing the remote from JB electronic shops as these fans are meant for sale in malaysia market only.

just like to check if you are currently using KDK and if you want to change to another brand, you need to change the existing fan rod? or it can re-use and just mount the new fan from a different brand?

Sourcing for another brand to replace my panasonic fan that I bought it few years ago in JB. Not sure why I don't feel the wind fully even when it's on max speed. And the wind can only cover area beneath the fan. Like maybe 1m away I can't feel the wind at all. When u guys buy fans from JB, do you opt for shorter or longer downrod?

Saw couple of question on wanting to hear reviews of PO eco fans. Being an owner of 2 sets, I would say that it looked much nicer than most fans, but the downside is the durability of the drivers. The one in my living room lasted about close to 2 years and the one in my mbr lasted 3 years ( probably because it was not used as heavily as the one in the living room). Cost to replace is about $95. I would prefer kdk as the one I had in my common room lasted 4 years (still counting) without any issues. The only thing I dislike is that it does not rem my last setting
