Anyone knows how to change Prudential insurance agent?

I have a few policies under a Prudential agent who was recommended to me by a relative. I stuck with that agent for many years (was young then, didn't know better), and also I didn't have any claims last time so no issues. But recently I had a few hospitalization claims, and when I asked my agent some questions, he just told me to email customer service. I also had questions about my policies, and he told me to email their HQ.

I'm thinking about requesting for a change in agent. I recently reconnected with an old friend who is now a Prudential agent, and I think she'll be a good person to take over my policies. But I've a few questions:

1) Will the new agent earn the commission from my policies (renewable every year)?

2) Will my old agent be penalised if I request to change agent?

Anyone knowledgeable or has experience on this?

1) The qns should be more of, are you planning to give the person business or just want your old friend to help you submit claims? If you are seeing it as a quid pro quo, i.e. help submit claims and hopefully ur renewable policy they get to earn commission, why not ask your friend and be frank?

2) You want ur old agent to be penalised?

I have recently had this experience of changing agent. actually many times in the past. You just need to ask your new agent to have you fill up a form for changing agents. thats it.. In Manulife, this is done Online and the customer has to initiate it, you just need your agent's code in the web form.

1. no
2. no often, however sometimes someone from the agency will call you why you change agent. depending on what you will say, then your old agent can be penalised specially if you have some issues with his/her service.

I think if the agent service is no good it is only fair to reflect to his agency as such. Why continue to pay him or her for bad service?
