looks ok for me thru android market...using android market on my PC, saw Novo 7 in my account

My pc android market also reflect Novo7Advance, but it is unsupported for skype. anyway you try search market on Novo7A for skype, see if you get.

Waiting for official release. But the ad-hoc support is confirmed for 1.7 accoording to some users who have tested it..

Testing testing! Still on stock. Will consider rooting to 1.6 or 1.7 if official FW from Ainol not out by end of week. Every function working perfectly. Very snappy. Even the side default function tab keys very good response. After some adjustment to brightness, screen ok leh. I wld say about 7/8 of a branded tablet. (Even on par! But that is my opinion.) Wifi fantastic. Pick up signals good and fast.
Damn cool tablet for this kind of pricing.... no regrets. : )

Hi,my New Novo 7 advance after using 10mins gaming can feel warm at the back of the tablet but not my viewpad 7.

Is it like that for China tablet will get warm or hot faster after gaming for a long period.

Will the batteries knock out in the long run faster than branded tablet.

Mine also feels warm on the right side of the back. some branded ones will also feel warm. I guess it's how close the battery is to the cover.

But then China tablet battery normally not as good as branded ones. IIRC, Novo 7/A are using unbranded battery. So won't really know how good it is

Too much good things had been said about Novo7A, here's my negative thoughts so far.

1. Very weak or no wifi signal after 5m away from router.
2. Market (1.7B or 1.7.2) is not 100% working with some apps missing. (New tablet/processor needs time)
3. Go widgets gives error (Problem Loading Widget) after reboot.
4. Side panel touch screen/button aren't as responsive.
5. Apps compatibility still aren't good enough. (New tablet/processor needs time)
6. On 1.6T/1.7B/1.7.2 seems to have 0.1-0.3s lag when I cut multiple fruits on fruit ninja. (could be a software thingy)
7. Soft speaker and volume+ app doesn't help (much).
8. Skype video not working.

Picking bones.
9. Would be good if there're GPS & bluetooth
10. View angle & screen could be better.
11. Cameras could have been better, especially if there's LED flash
12. Firmware update could be faster, Onda already released their official 1.6.2 some days back. I guess Ainol just want to released 1.7.x

For zis kind of price, you still expect additional bells and whistles like BT & a better screen (Like IPS)?

There's a physical hack for it on Chinese forum, but warranty confirm void. It's quite easy, just 2 wires a small copper plate and 2 soldering points

Why can't ainol just sell $10-20 more ex and use a good wifi antenna. sigh.

Hmmm.... I poor man stay in 5 room flat. The router in room at a corner. I can still pick up signal at furthest point. i.e. all the way to toilet located in kitchen area. Perhaps my router ( 'N' type) 'powderful'.

Maybe urs lesser walls lol. Mines enclosed in my desk, out my room with door close, dc liao. No problem with A500 or other android phones.

Maybe u have a powerful router, but when go elsewhere then got problem liao. I always fear go smaller hotels with their wifi point 2-3 rooms away from mine. Even laptop has problem getting access.

I doubt much can be done on the wifi part, they could had used lower power weaker wifi chip & speaker, so that they can clock better battery time I strongly believe it's hardware than software.

But 1.7B/1.7.2 actually gives better scores on quadrant standard. Before was 15xx, now around 17xx

woohoo!!! can't wait to go home, upgrade and start tethering to my iphone!



btw is 1.72 rooted already?
