Maybe urs lesser walls lol. Mines enclosed in my desk, out my room with door close, dc liao. No problem with A500 or other android phones.

Maybe u have a powerful router, but when go elsewhere then got problem liao. I always fear go smaller hotels with their wifi point 2-3 rooms away from mine. Even laptop has problem getting access.:s27:

Yup. U have a point there. I'll be trying that out when I go out station soon. Hope got enough wifi reception power to transmit a field report. :s13:
Anyway, thank goodness one of my primary consideration has been fulfilled. i.e. Lounge around the house wif a lightweight and compact device for surfing/emailing.

I'm thinking of buying those mini usb wifi to try:s13:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-150Mbp...021?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb82c13d5

There's a physical hack for it on Chinese forum, but warranty confirm void. It's quite easy, just 2 wires a small copper plate and 2 soldering points:s8:

Why can't ainol just sell $10-20 more ex and use a good wifi antenna. sigh.
That is for normal USB ports right? How are you going to connect it when the n7 doesn't have one?

I doubt much can be done on the wifi part, they could had used lower power weaker wifi chip & speaker, so that they can clock better battery time:s8: I strongly believe it's hardware than software.
When I first saw the ROM modders wanting to improving WiFi of Herotab C8 via software tweaks, I'm highly skeptical of it working. I mean, such things are usually limited by hardware! To my surprise, users actually report dramatic improvements after the tweaks! Maybe the settings are as simple as boosting the EIRP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equivalent_isotropically_radiated_power) of the device?

So there, there might be a chance that you can mitigate, not solve entirely, the inefficiency of the WiFi via software. For free. :) Good luck!

Saw you guys with your new toy and I am really envious. Still waiting for a worthy 9.7" / 10" tablet. :(

the weak wifi signal is worring hahaha

try switch your router to only b/g mode with the "N" off

it works for laptops in my office.

one of the 2 years old lappy keep cutting off and poor siganl while the new one is fine...

If i am not wrong, your tab should be using b/g though some china tab claim it has "N"

In addition, long ago pple were saying "N" technology is not "standard" so different manufacturer come out with their own standard, end up some wifi card is incompatible with certain router.

Try refer to http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=60611414&postcount=491

You can wait if you like, but I think $199 is already a good price:s7:
