This is a common "problem" with Android 2.x. You can find the Static IP addressing check box by pressing the "menu" button at the WiFi configuration page, then chosing "Advanced". (I hope I got the terms correct...)My big peev so far is this thing can't set static IP or I can't find anything relating to setting a static ip as this seems depending on a DHCP server.
However, the static IP configuration applies for all SSIDs. If you had set to say 192.168.1.100/24, gw 192.168.1.1 for your home WiFi, then it would also apply to Wireless@SGx. There is an app for custom static IP addressing for each SSID profile, check it out if you are interested.
Static IP addressing is good for the tablet. Coz usually you'll disable WiFi when it enters standby and when you wakes it up, it will need to go through the DHCP process, which can be rather unecessary.
