My big peev so far is this thing can't set static IP or I can't find anything relating to setting a static ip as this seems depending on a DHCP server.
This is a common "problem" with Android 2.x. You can find the Static IP addressing check box by pressing the "menu" button at the WiFi configuration page, then chosing "Advanced". (I hope I got the terms correct...)

However, the static IP configuration applies for all SSIDs. If you had set to say 192.168.1.100/24, gw 192.168.1.1 for your home WiFi, then it would also apply to Wireless@SGx. There is an app for custom static IP addressing for each SSID profile, check it out if you are interested.

Static IP addressing is good for the tablet. Coz usually you'll disable WiFi when it enters standby and when you wakes it up, it will need to go through the DHCP process, which can be rather unecessary.

Please share once u get it rooted.i am looking forward to it as well..hehehe...
i bought Dreampad 2 for about 3weeks and it seems to be quite a good tablet for the price paid. =)

You will be able to root using superoneclick here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682. This tablet have a few variants some with resistive screen some with built-in 3g but the mainboard are all manufactured by inet-tek & there are 2 version in the market rev3 & rev4. I use to have the rev3 version which is able to run Cyanogenmod 7 (by Fun_) very well. Refer to this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119778&page=46

For your Dreampad, what is the Model Number, Android Version and Kernel Version? Get the details from Settings -> About device.

If I remember correctly... model : 11ca / android version: 2.3.3 / can't remember kernel version. Bought it mainly for the built-in 3g but it didn't work well, so I have sent it back to China. If you need the USB drivers, let me know. You'll need that to flash the firmware using fwdn. CM7 really runs very well on this tablet.

I'm not using this tablet but on my Herotab / Dropad / Haipad, the CyanogenMod ROM is not as polished as the others. To flash, I simply copy the ROM to a microSD, insert it into my tablet, then power up it up while pressing the menu button. That's all to upgrade - no need extra software or hardware. :)

On my rena3, I use sdcard to update too. For dreampad, I was unable to access stock recovery thus have to use fdwn to flash firmware. For other tcc8803 tablet, access to recovery is via back & power button but that doesn't work for dreampad.

for rooting the dreampad, Gingerbreak doesn't seem to work for this 2.3.3 version.

Anybody got any other solutions to rooting or we have to wait for a 2.3.3 surefire way of rooting.

Wow, banned? If don't like the rules here of protecting users against spams, you might wanna try VR-Zone. Try advertising for free there. :)

actually is not against spams...

it is about affecting their rice bowl la...

:s13:
To those who are not interested in DreamPads, all your posts are spams. It is not about HWZ's revenue "hurt" by your free advertisements, but users like me see numerous adverts of your products duplicated in several different threads, especially those that are not about your type of products. If you do not need viagras but you received viagra mails in your mail box, would you consider them as spam?

If you wish to discuss about your products, then please create a thread just about DreamPad and stay there. Do not hijack other threads for your product news and updates.

There are two threads for discussing China tablets and are spammed by your adverts and product updates. This thread is on the cheapest android tablet and is also spammed by your adverts and product updates - the worst sin is your tablet is far from being the cheapest android tablet option, both price-wise and performance-wise.

VR-Zone is just a click away. :) Hopefully you get to "share" your wonderful products there without interference.

Hi folks. Researched a bit on wopad i7. Looks cool and relatively low cost vs its reported performance. Wonder if anybody here has a wopad i7 and would like to share his/her review on this tablet.

Much appreciated.
