Ordered from merimobile on 18th Oct. Ad shows will be shipped within 5 business days. Today is the end of the 6th business day, and still it's yet to be shipped. Juz shot an email asking for the status. If still have to wait, I'll rather cancel the order and buy from portablemall instead. At least it'll reach me in 4-5 days. If I stick to merimobile, I will have to wait for another like 21 days or so. Or better still, get from SLS @ $199. Of course, provided I can find the shop that's selling it.

From my past experience of items coming from HK, it normally takes 5-8 working days for normal postage. If from China it'll be 6-12 working days. Normally registered post will be faster.

Already did. I sent them an email on Monday, and they told me it's advertised to ship within 5 days. They promised to ship on Tuesday but didn't. I gave them another day and still nothing. So, I just shot another email to them. As for the live chat, it's never "Online". Every time I login, it's offline.

I think they are in a different time zone. I managed to chat with them once or twice and I think it's early morning local time here. Can't really remb but u can google that. Anyway, when I was online wif them, I gave cock & bull story say I going on business trip soon so can pls push my N7A out quickly. The fellow replied ok, he'll send a message to the processing department. U can try.

Saw the price from portablemall...very interesting. S$189.99
Save the trouble of shipping and can "curse" at someone near.

I just ordered a "TL-WR702N Portable Mini 150M WiFi Wireless Router" from ebay (about S$33 with shipping) to help with novo7A weak wifi problem.

It's actually a 5in1: Wifi client, Bridge, Repeater, Router & AP.

EST is -5, SGT is +8. So time diff = 5+ 8 = 13 hours. According to their live chat timing - 10am to 3pm EST, our time should be 11pm to 4am. I'll check if they're online in 30 mins' time. Thanks!

When's your trip? If it's 2-3weeks away, maybe you can still order and get it in time I just order today also.

portablemall also shipped from HK, that's why it's with fedex. I doubt you can curse anyone, as I couldn't find their local address.

Didnt went down to simlim but went to imm instead. saw the novo8 and it felt real good. v responsive screen. asked about novo 7 but they aren't carrying it. not too sure if they are intending to bring it in...
i'm thinking of ordering online. currently down to 3 options www.merimobiles.com , www.portablemall.com.sg, or from taobao. i got an email reply from portablemall sg that their price for the novo7a is 189sg with freeshipping by fedex. estimated shipping is like 4-5 days, comes with 1 year warranty i think but not too sure how to go about claiming warranty..
went to check out taobao also, they are offering v great price at 699 rmb++ with lots of accessories.. but like not very trustworthy i think... especially i think warranty is going to be v troublesome.. dunno if they will give warranty claim out of china...
any opinions on this anyone??

I ordered from Taobao twice thru my agent. The 1st purchase was for a 7" portable media player and the recent one was for the novo7. So far both items were free of defects. In exchange for a cheaper price, you must be prepared that if you're unfortunate enough to get a lemon, it would be a hassle to RMA the item

I forgot to mentioned, skype video actually works with 1.7B/1.7.2

Also tried tethering hotspot with Atrix and Xperia Play via wifi. Both work great Connection distance is about 1m.

I was only on 1.7.2 for about 3hrs. I do find 1.7B more stable as in lesser force close.

BTW google talk works on Novo7A 1.7B, but the video chat don't >.<
