I'd tested xda mod skype on 1.7B firmware and video works

Actually I am looking for a 9-10" for reading purpose.
I have been following slatdriod.
Initially thought that the T9 will be the next popular tab.
Recently NOVO 7A had its own topic and discussions are picking up speed fast


Maybe I will get 7A as so far I cant narrow other china tabs and it is so "HOT"

IMHO, for reading ebook, I do suggest 7". 9-10" quite heavy and bulky after 1-2hours of reading, unless you aren't holding it

I'm actually waiting for an A10 9.7" IPS tablet, want to buy one for my in-law

There's always a newer and "hotter" tablet. I really hope they come out a dual core A9 with Mali400, added many cores and cheap like Allwinner A10 China tablet should be ready for ICS if this happens

Disappointing that the first (to my knowledge) 8" allwinner A10 tablet is using 800x600 screen Here's a preview of Onda VI30W 8" tablet.

On the bright side, Onda has released news of their soon to release firmware for A10 tablets will be 1.8T Mentioned about some ICS UI or something. Novo7A should follow shortly with their 1.8T firmware.

Mostly all 1.7 versions will remain as their beta versions.

For those interested to connect to 3G dongle, I just tested it on my old Huawei E169. All works well, but initial connection to 3G takes a little time like a min or so.

I forgot to mentioned, skype video actually works with 1.7B/1.7.2

Also tried tethering hotspot with Atrix and Xperia Play via wifi. Both work great Connection distance is about 1m.

I have managed to download 1.7B, how do i install it? any forum that can guide us to upgrade the firmware? or do we do it on the tablet directly?

something like PSP brick?
or if in any event something goes wrong, can i restore the to factory setting?

Just make sure these are done,

1. Best to have the tablet fully charged. I always do it if the batt is more than 70%, but that's just me, don't follow.
2. Make sure your PC is not buggy, meaning it will not suddenly restart for no good reason.
3. Make sure you don't accidentally pull out the USB cable during firmware update.

Follow the attached instructions closely, you'll be fine

Don't worry, where this model is concerned even if it fails during a firmware update it can still be recovered

Btw, what is the main difference between 1.6 and 1.7.2?
when i update to 1.7.2 will all my previous installation gone? i mean the apps in 1.6?
and i read that 1.7.2 will have android market installed inside..

1.7B/1.7.2 has market and music player. Also can do video chat on skype.
