Anyone has experience with tailor in CM? Was thinking of tailoring a suit. Or should i skip CM and only tailor when going bkk next time?

Just got back from Chiangmai, via Bangkok :) . It was the right choice to go during Loy Krathong, and enjoy the mass releases of sky laterns.

Took the night train both ways from Bangkok , first-class sleeper, wasn't too bad except the strong air-con and shaking when you are showering.

Covered Doi Inthano, Doi Suthep , Mon Cham area and Meo Village. Hopefully have more time to cover Chiangmai and Pai in my next Northern thailand trip.

I'm contemplating making a first trip to Chiang Mai... My friend told me it's more interesting than shopping in Bangkok.
How do you guys get to Chiangmai? Direct flight or train in bangkok? Please advise. I've never been to Thailand..

Fly directly to Chiangmai. Scoot or SIA.

If don't mind spending money and want to save time just fly direct. If got time to spare just take plane to Bangkok then take train there( about 10hrs plus plus ride).
You could also save a bit if you were to transit at Bangkok airport then take domestic flight to chiang mai. A bit waste time ah. But depends on your schedule also.

Yes so far only Scoot and Silk Air flying to Chiangmai directly, and thats before Silk Air giving up that route to Scoot by next year.

You can also take train up there, which typically take > 10 hours. I took the night train for this unique experience haha

I just came back from a 7D6N of Chiang Mai.

Just to share. For those who are looking to charter a van, can consider Thailand Kingdom Tour.

Price is definitely 1 of the lowest.

Free wifi, cold water and refreshing face wipes in the van.

It was a family trip. :D

1st night, we stayed at Imperial Mae Ping. I don't recommend this hotel. Subsequent nights, we stayed at Duangtawan.

3rd day, we went to an elephant jungle sanctuary. This one is a recommended trip. Trip booked through Klook.

4th day, we went to Doi Suthep and sticky waterfall.

5th day, we went to Doi Inthanon.

Airport shuttle and Thai SIM cards were bought through Klook.
