Why they making robots to play sports? Instead of making robots to work for human?

Playing sports should be done by humans only.

No… it is a challenge to test the robot agility… if they can smack badminton… they also can smack your face if you overwork them

They could have use the money, effort, time to demo a robot that cooks and cleans, stock take, arrange products on a shelf, walk a dog, grocery shopping.

Even Better marketing purpose.

Nope. They choose to make it run marathon. Dancing. Boxing.

They can make the robots useful by making 1 run at world record pace, and the rest to progressively scale down to say completing the entire race in 5-6 hours so that people can use them to pace their runs

As for robots working for humans, don't you worry. In the future you can have a robot maid to work for you, and they don't need a day off each week

Just use a small programable vehicle also can pace

lol, really? just name 10 earth shaking innovations, ok just 5 with help of any search engine and ai, from china for last 100 years, that's on par with likes of computers/internet/gps/pcr.

That's why I find all these "inventions" are lame. Till now, I still no heard of news robot and AI being trained for rescues from buildings collapsed after an earthquake or run into fire to save people. I only see these in Marvel movies.

These will eventually come in time. On tv of course is mostly entertainment mah which are the low lying fruits. Who wants to spend time watching robots doing household chores on tv, right?

That footage was last year humanoid robot marathon. Most of the humanoid robots are fragile made of plastics components.

Ishowspeed abused a humanoid robot until cannot be used for demo at other events, got sued for 1 million loss.
