Im using 3gs with ios4 and pdanet. For some reason the xoom and sony tablet cannot detect wifi signal frm my phone. Ipad2 works smoothly though.
just sharing..
noticed some website and shops wrongly advertise Tab as "Cortex A10"
Just checked www.arm.com
They only have Cortex A8, A9 and latest A15.
I think ARM skip A10 because of another chip maker trying to mislead consumer by labeling their processor as A10 which is actually is A8.

U shared this before I'm pretty sure. Most of use here had been refering A10 as Allwinner A10. Most review sites all stated it as A8 base. Anyway it's the same as those China tablets that mislead people with multicores or dualcore.
But that doesn't changed the fact A10 tablets are still the most snappy Chinese tablet (under 1000 RMB) and most value for money currently out in market.
The performance is on par or better than RK2918 Cortex A8, overall performance better than Amlogic AML8726-M Cortex A9 (the chip is @800HMz) (based on Novo7A and Novo8A) & NEC EV2 dual core Cortex A9.
Price wise, it's cheaper. The only porpular chipset I can think of that runs on 1GHz which is cheaper is Vimicro VC882
I'll love to see a good Amlogic AML8726-M/NEC EV2 dual core Cortex A9 with 5points capacitive screen & 1 yr warranty selling under S$200 in Singapore![]()
google only provide android to version 2.x. 3.x all needs to pay royalties.
seasoncrystal, my side is a little confuse of what is written on arm about Cortex A9 - single core and Cortex A9 MPcore (Multiple core)
According to diagram there is 4 CPU in Cortex-A9 Mpcore, does it mean it is faster than dual core? Very confusing, i do not have dual core to test.
My side has a protoype running on MPcore and quadrant score exceed 2000 points, seasoncrystal, mind if you can test on your ainol 7 see wht is the score though i know "quadrant standard" may not be accurate. ^^
Diagram of Cortex-A9 MPcore (Multicore Processor) from www.arm.com

d 3.x Honeycomb was only a tablet-oriented release. Google withholds d source code because they didn't want 3rd party users 2 port it 2 smartphones, citing possible poor user experience.
in any case, 4.x ice cream sandwich, a merger of gingerbread n honeycomb n more is still open source.

Any other bro do correct me if I'm wrong here.
To my understanding, the A9 Mpcore comes with 1-4 CPU, meaning to say the core processors can be 1 or more cores. But it'll total up to 1GHz (or maybe 1.2GHz). Like EV2 case is 533+533MHz = 1+GHz. If it's 4 cores means 250+250+250+250MHz, so the base core is 250MHz.
Is there any apps to check how many cores? I mean the processor can come in various amount of cores. I mean A9 is titled as Mpcore (cos it can be), but it doesn't mean it'll be 4 cores.
Multicore 1-4 cores
Single core version also available

Android 2.3.4 support dual core, so even with 4 cores the best performance off 2 cores.
Have a look at NEC EV2 A9 Diagram, see if you see similarity.

For quadrant standard the Novo7A @1GHz with 1.7B update I got yesterday was 17xx. Do note that Novo7A is supposed to run at 1.5GHz.
Also the processor itself is not the deciding factor to how well the tablet runs. Allwinner A10 snappy performance lies in CPU+GPU+VPU+DPU+VE (Chinese calls it many cores) working together. The 2D & 3D performance is mainly due to Mali-400 GPU which is what Galaxy S2 is using.
The price is another deciding factor, it just makes China tablet more attractive again. I mean if I have to pay S$300 for a no brand/OEM 7" China tablet, I might as well pay for US$199 Kindle fire or Levono A1 or Viewsonice Viewpad 7E. It'll be cheaper or around S$300, but I get a established brand tablet.
I wonder how many really cares about the technology behind the China tablet. As long as it's cheap, the brand has good repo, the tablet is snappy, resonable battery life, weight is not too heavy and does what is expected (2D & 3D games, play HD movies, surf net smoothly, etc). I doubt any China tablet buyer will turn away.
There's also another key point, I would recommend Novo7A. It already have a community in slatedroid only just launched recently. There's even a section for it. It's quite something. Even the Meiying M11 doesn't have a section yet, and it's known to be a good tablet.![]()
Quite a lot of skeptics are questioning but Google has been very, very certain that ICS will be released.ICS is confirmed open source? A day or 2 after ICS was released, people were still questioning. It'll be really nice if it is![]()

The article is very clear on this.

Google is reportedly not providing official ICS firmware for the Nexus One citing performance issues. I suppose ICS is gonna be very process intensive. If so, then very likely we want ICS on our China tablets as they may not be powerful enough to handle ICS. In that case, we might be stuck with Gingerbread for good. Will read it laterThanks for sharing

I'm keen to see what will be the "IN" chipset for 2012 1st quarter

All tested with 3 tries..
1) quadrant standard Edition = 1600
2) AnTuTu benchmark= 2850
(RAM=350, Integer=620, Float=160, 2D=300, 3D=1000 , IO=250...)

Ainol bros out there, any tips for this poor lady?
I recall a bro mentioned that the latest firmware came with market. If so just update to lastest firmware.
Official firmware

ELSE.
Try get it root, if it's 2.2 can use z4root (google it, it's easy to find). Then use root explorer, copy vending.apk which I believe you have into system/app. Do make sure app folder is on R/W. After that just reset/restart the tablet.
Edit: As all root or mod or rom update, it's on your own risk. I would ask her to go back to the seller and insist it get fixed.
