battery life from 3~4h is now 9h

I'm getting 10% drain every 30minutes of movie playback, so around 4 to 5 hours.

9 hours idle sounds about right. USB charger current draw when not charging battery is ~0.5A when idling and 1A under load. (Noting that the onboard DC-DC only produces 1A, that's why the battery doesn't charge.)

Android mode not measured, but feels much less power drain. For one, the battery actually charges. Probably even for load - because performance in Windows is better than Android.

Is it true China phones and tablets today still like to use Android 4.4 KitKat? Especially those unbranded OEM white box products.

They are actually very updated... most using Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

The ones using kitkat are unsold phones manufactured in 2014. Avoid them. If you want Android Nougat, buy a xiaomi phone with qualcomm chipset, and install custom ROM.

Sorry a bit OT but I thought this is the best thread to ask. Anyone can recommend a shop which will replace my Samsung tab pro 8.4" battery at a reasonable price? I think it's already reaching the limit of it's lifespan as I can only get around 3 hours of SOT now..

yes

Looking for a $200 to $300 non-ios tablet, mainly just for watching show.
or do you have a better recommendation?
Just got a Mi Pad 3 from Q10 today. After coupon discount only $319. Just got home from collection. Looks and feels good, comparable to my other Tab S2. Will be charging and setting up later tonight. Great that its using USB type C, can share charger / cable with my V20.

One thing to note is the shop told me this is a custom global rom with Google Play services. The default is only China rom, so I suppose all sold in SG should be with this custom one? Skip this or wait for official global rom if you are not comfortable using hacked/custom rom. BTW, this is the 4GB / 64GB version.

Now I have Windows 10 in 5 different screen sizes

sop31gb.jpg

6.44 inch (1920x1080), 8 inch (1280x800), 10.1 inch (2560x1600), 11.6 inch (1920x1080) and 13.3 inch (1920x1080)

I did not know there is a 6.44 inch windows tablet. Looks like the mi max. Which tablet is this?

Sorry, I am not too much of an IT person.
What do you mean by 4GB ram and 64 GB memory space version? Do you meant like there is other version?

thanksthanks!

Haha, I didn't do my research before buying. Much of an impulse purchase, seems there is only the 4/64GB version in the market. Sorry for the confusion.

Anyway, used it during the weekend. Nothing heavy, watched lots of Youtube, stream movies over my home network, internet and read some magazines online. So far very stable and smooth. No hangs, hiccups or restarts from the custom ROM.
