If you really think so, then stop looking at China tablets and confusing urself. There are more China 9.7" tablets compared to what u'd listed.

edit: Mind u some of ur specs are wrong. Like N90 there's no HDMI, also all A10 chipset tablets can output 2160p

Yeah, thanks for pointing out the errors... collated from websites which are not always reliable... hahaha!

I look only at the more reputable ones lar... cos if there is a good price, then it is worth. So at the moment at this price, not worth, second hand branded tablets may be better off... but no harm tracking and moving in when the price is to my liking... :)

dude, compare Apple with Apple!

u were looking at the 32GB. i was referring to the 16GB (i.e. same as the N90) which was going for less than $400 even before the new iPad was launched.

at one stage the 64GB was even going for only ard $500 at the Apple Store. not all the models are available all the time at the Apple Store.

getting a good condition iPad1 for S$350 shd be no prob now that the new iPad has been launched.

In the US, following the launch of the new iPad, the refurbished iPad 2 16GB is going for just US$349 or US$359. So u can imagine what the new prices for the refurbished iPad1 should be by adjusting accordingly. It will def have to be less than US$299.

In Singapore, the refurbished prices have not been adjusted yet and the refurbished prices for the iPad2 are the same as the NEW adjusted prices announced by Apple!

Personally, i bought a brand new-in-box sealed iPad1 64GB wifi for just $510 last month with 1-yr Apple wrty.

Prices move very quickly and u need to stay up-to-date! Otherwise, u will end up with a lemon when u could have got a cake!

Well currently, there are no 16GB iPad 1s in the refurbished store so no choice lar... but if it's only $350, I don't think there will be any for me to buy cos I don't stalk the Apple Store... but at S$350 for a iPad 1 16GB wifi, pretty good price for a gift!

I only saw it appear twice and both times they were snapped after 1 or 2 days. I didn't get it because I was waiting for a 64GB. In the end, I got a better deal from the SLS shop. Right now, the best buy might be a refurbished iPad2 16GB Wifi for ard $460 (based upon US$359)

Yah lar... anyway the cheapest refurbished iPad 1 is 16GB 3G + Wifi or 32GB Wifi only. S$538. Overpriced if you ask me... these tablets are like over 1 year old already...

Yes, but that's because the refurbished iPad1s are mis-priced. The refurbished prices for iPad1 have not been adjusted downwards like the iPad2. Personally i think the iPad1 is still better than even the Window N90 even though it is heavier. Both are single-core, IPS screen 1024X768 but iPad1 has blue-tooth and can jb.

In any case, right now, the BEST BUY is the refurbished iPad2 16GB wifi which is selling for only $458! (stocks available at Apple Store-just checked). Much better buy than the iPad1 32GB for $538.

For less than $70 more than the N90, you have a premium branded, sleeker, lighter, DUAL-core tablet with bluetooth and 1-yr fuss-free warranty and a robust operating system in IOS. Plus easy to find accessories like cases, screen protectors etc.

No need to figure out how to root or flash various ROMs and amend scripts to install Market etc unless u really enjoy that kind of stuff! I wouldn't consider a 9.7" MIC Android tablet unless it was selling for ard S$250 with IPS screen

That's because someone bought it!

Not all the models are available all the time. If u really want to get a particular model, you need to check the Apple Store now and then.

Anyway, i have compiled the full list of refurbished prices as follows:-

iPad1 wifi (16/32/64): $398 / $538 / $658
iPad1 3G (16/32/64): $538 / $668 / $798

iPad2 wifi (16/32/64): $458 / $588 / $718
iPad2 3G (16/32/64): $628 / $758 / $888

From the above, it is obvious that the iPad1 prices were not adjusted downwards following the launch of the new iPad hence the better buy is the iPad2.

But sometimes they have "Specials" - i have seen the iPad1 16GB wifi selling for only ard $350 and the iPad1 64GB wifi selling at $510.

Personally, i think the iPad2 16GB wifi is just an incredible deal compared to Android tablets like the Galaxy Tabs or the ridiculously over-priced MIC 9.7" tablets.

I was originally planning to get the Galaxy Tab 7.7 through my mobile re-contract but having second thoughts now bec i think it is way too ex.

iPad1 wifi (16/32/64): $418* / $538 / $658
iPad1 3G (16/32/64): $538 / $668 / $798

iPad2 wifi (16/32/64): $458 / $588 / $718
iPad1 3G (16/32/64): $628 / $758 / $888

* not listed - my best guess

The new prices for iPad2 16GB is not very far off from the refurbished ones.

iPad2 wifi (16/32/64) $528/NA/NA
iPad2 3G (16/32/64) $698/NA/NA

Yes, the diff is US$50 (US$399 for new and US$349 for refurbished) but for those with lower budget, it does make a difference. Better to get refurbished than 2nd-hand bec u get a new case, new battery plus 1-yr wrty

For you, getting a ipad2 is to complete the apple collection..
:p
7.7 is still worth it unless you wanted S3 or iphone 5...
(both are rumour to be BIG form factor ...more than 4.5")

In that case, buying second hand off the numerous iPad 3 wannabes on the IT Garage sale forum might make better economic sense cos it's at least $100 cheaper than the Apple Store price. And it's really just the warranty you are paying for. I have been offered iPad 1 16GB 3G + Wifi for $330 before. There are many selling iPad 1 64GB 3G + Wifi for well below $600. Some offer as low as $500. So I guess it's a better buy off an owner directly rather than resort to Aplle Store for second hand... at the ridiculous prices offered, you might was well pay for the iPad 3 at $658. You're looking only at a $120-150 price premium for the newest kid on the block... Apple pricing doesn't make any sense...

Yup. Even though I got my iPad1-64GB wifi new-in-box at a great price ($510), i think i would have been better off getting a refurbished iPad2-32GB for only $588. Then i would have all 3 generations!

Like you, i can't seem to resist a good bargain and end up collecting lots of tablets and hps!

If the iPhone 5 is really bigger than 4", then that's what i really want (in addition to a 7" mini-iPad!). But we all know all these speculations don't count for much - just need to be patient!

For iPad1, i agree u will get a better price from sellers on the marketplace since the Apple Store prices are not adjusted.

For iPad2, i believe a lot of sellers are still asking for high prices because of their high cost. Some are asking for even higher than the refurbished model which comes with a brand new battery, new case and 1-yr wrty.
