Either Ainol Paladin - $149 (think u can bargain to $140)
or Teclast P76ti - $148

or second hand stuff, else the rest are higher than your $150 budget.
There r ppl selling N7a at S$120...which i think it i a good deal.
(& they come with case + SP)...though all forum support are slow now, but the ROM available are massive

Not just you, but why many recmding china tablets above us$250, when branded roshiba thrive and acer iconia are already going for $250?

Having read your post, I decided to to buy a toshiba thrive or an acer iconia since they are so cheap. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any of the products you recommended at the suggested retail price you mentioned except for refurbished products which obviously would be like comparing the price of new cars against used cars.

That said, I wouldn't be buying China brand tablets which cost above USD250... in fact I struggled for a month before parting for USD180 for a China tablet which is currently somewhere in transit on its way to me.

In fact, I wouldn't touch a China tablet with a pole until I bought an new iPad and the user experience was so wonderful compared to lugging a 2kg Win8 tablet PC. I discovered that I could do most of what I want on the iPad except that I prefer Chrome and need better support for Google Apps... so what better to try than an Android based tablet?

So far I have been disappointed by a Motorola Milestone and a Huawei S7 android devices... so I hope my coming tablet would make me happy.

China Tablets do not need this feature..as it is "restricted" in the country.
Which model did u buy?
They are many scripts to root & applied Gapps to it...

So do i just download the apk file? getting nowhere with this
not apk ...but a script package.

"standard" procedure
1) unpack the script package
2) set unit to debugging mode
3) plug SUB to unit & PC
4) Run batch file (*.bat) (from the unpack package)

Should some unknown device detected, there is a USB folder , normally, in the package.
Point to it when requested..

the forum shd have a procedure
