Hi,Is Taoyuan airport more convenient to travel to chishang, and travel with the high speed train to get there after?
Is there a direct flight from Sg to Taitong?
Intend to make a trip to ChiShang to enjoy the Padi field in early July, would there be all greenery at that time of my travel?
Besides, I am seeking a more affordable flight from SG to Taiwan, any nice recommendations?

Normally flight ticket will be cheaper during typhoon season.

July is nearing harvest season, more golden fields than greenery fields then as the rice fields gets ready to be harvested.

No hsr from taipei to taitung, only normal tra train. Book early as July have harvest festivals and may run out of train seats.

rice fields harvested during end oct to early - mid nov.
end nov to dec is probably barren fields.
may - september is peak period to see the green or gold fields.

travel to taitung is only via TRA, no HSR.
so you have to do a minimum 4hrs ride from the north or 1.5hr to 2hrs from the south.

chishang trains intervals are longer in the afternoons , so check the schedule before starting the day if its a daytrip.

cheaper depends on how far in advance you buy the airticket? or camp for airline sale.

Harvested sounds out of the plan. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Is there any other interesting places to visit around Chi Shang or Taitung?

Thanks so much for the infos, this is crucial as I might not be able to get the ticket then, thanks. Actually, when will be all the greenery padi fields in Chi Shang?

I dare not drive alone oversea after an incident in NZ last time. It was kinda tense the whole trip and I wouldn't have a chance to enjoy the views or myself. Anyway, thanks .

Will I be able to enjoy the greenery padi fields in July, most of them feedback July probably near the harvest season. I'm more into the nature and I believe Chi Shang will be a good option for me to visit Taiwan.Where else in taiwan I could enjoy those panoramic views and supre wide enviroment with less tourist?
It's definitely not a day trip, probably will spend 2days in Chi Shang

Wonder how long is the journey from Taitung railway station to Chi Shang if I transfer to another local train? I heard there'll be fun to rent a bike from Chi Shang railway station and it's easy to get one also.
Is 花蓮 also in Taitung, never been to Taiwan before.

I can't remember, but I don't think it'll be long.
There might be another station closer to 池上,but that you might need to Google abit.

From the 池上 stn, the accoms owner shd be able to pick u up. Once u settle ur in, some air bnb might have free bikes for their customers to use.

Pls remember to eat the 便當 at 池上。
The rice is damn nice!

Yes, chi shang is actually famous for their rice quality (must try their chi shang bento!) so lots of rice padi fields!

Don't worry about driving, speed limit along east coast area is between 40 -60 max and not as crowded once outside main towns/cities like taitung or hualien.

Would advise driving to catch more things as bus schedule can be erratic.

35 - 45mins from taitung stn to chishang stn. rentals all over chishang once you exit the station.

hualien is further up north from taitung. inbetween taipei and taitung.

How I wished I could drive as you guys recommend, but, I have kinda phobia after a bad experience in NZ.
Just need to find out would there be green or golden during my visit of the padi fields

So, I probably will take a train from Taipei railway station to Taitung's and transfer another train from Taitung to ChiShang. Total travel will be estimated around 5hours. I may consider to visit Hualien after ChiShang as I need to travel back to Taitung after that.
