You better call CSO and chase as I think on 20th Nov 2023 bonus interest already credit becuz I have it.

Called CSO and they say because my Oct month end balance is lower than Sep month end balance hence no bonus interest. I transferred some money out on the last day of Oct (close to 2359) for the HSBC Nov promo.

I opened my account in July and registered for the Aug promo via the Chatbot whereby the promo stated comparison against July month end balance (July month end balance only has that 1k account opening deposit). After the transfer to HSBC, the Oct month end balance was still higher than then Jul 23 month end balance.

CSO is saying I am under new customer promo that compared again previous month (Sep) end balance. I don't buy that BS from the CSO. Going to write email to feedback on it.

Do feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong

For Aug promo existing user just need to compare the 31-Jul-2023 balance. But for new user then yes compare to previous month. It seems you open in July the system never capture that and hence for Aug promo you register they treat you as under new user? Hmmm

I deposited only 1k for the account opening and left it there. Only in Aug then i registered for the Aug promo and pump money in.

Just to clear my doubt, does the CIMB promo still need to alternate month merry go round for the fresh fund or can just deposit and let it sit there till 6 mth promo ends ?

New customers need not register for the promo.

Since you open account in Jul and deposit at least 1 k you are considered participating in Jul new customer promo. Check if you received Jul bonus interest on 20 Aug.

if you open account in July, you are already auto included in the promotion interest and T&C is subjected to as new customer, not existing customer. Thats why read the T&C properly before committing

https://www.cimb.com.sg/content/dam...cs-governing-casa-bonus-interest-promo-23.pdf

The condition is your month end balance must be higher than the previous one to be eligible for bonus interest. Remember, it is month end balance, not month average balance.

So to continue, make sure your 30Nov balance is higher than your 31Oct balance. And also your bonus interest period end at 31Dec
