You set up a GIRO of $1K from another bank to your CIMB a/c with the required description?
yup ... copy-paste required description into the GIRO setup (HSBC)

ts, the “withdraw till $0 part” is it you ownself embellish 1?

Guys, yall remember? Their example & t&c very clearly say not only the last day of each month but daily you must maintain $5K incremental vs comparison month’s last day.

you withdraw till $0 on any other day you won’t get bi for that particular month. :look:
No leh, if u have less than $5k incremental on any given day of the month except the last day, u just don't get bonus interest for that day. Only if u miss the last day of the month then u don't get bonus interest for that month.

U see the Dec example in clause 10 of T&C.

CSO told me :
if u have less than $5k incremental on any given day of the month except the last day, u don't get bonus interest for that day

If u miss the last day of the 3rd month then u don't get Any bonus interest for ALL the 3 months
------------
Got anyone else called in to ask bo ?

Jin scary their clause.... Better ALL DAYS keep it at above 5k incremental

Ask him for B&W quoting which clause in T&C states that? Anyway if wanna play safe just keep $5k incremental all the way.

The SI of $1K once giro in already , if we transfer it out to elsewhere on the same day , does it affect the extra bonus payout?

Based on the table illustration (#10) in the Terms and Conditions, one still can receive the Bonus Interest for that month if your Month-End Balance is more than S$5,000.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING CIMB CASA BONUS INTEREST/PROFIT PROMOTION DECEMBER 2024
So many of you are interpreting too much into this clause!

This is not the tnc clause, it is an illustration or mathematical eg. of the tnc defined in clause #5! It just show you how BI is calculated by day and by mth.

At the bottom of clause 10, read and interpret this statement:

"Bonus Interest/Profit (if any) will be accrued daily and credited into the Qualifying Account(s) on 31 March 2025."

And read this last statement in clause 5b:

(e.g. the daily end of day balance is compared against the Comparison Month End-day Balance until the end of the bonus interest/profit earning period);

It is silent on whether BI is by mth, but implied is by Period as defined in clause 4! Where in the tnc did it mention you earn/get credited BI by mth? (Unless you have past experience but not sharing?)

If I want to play this game, I want to max my interest/returns, so keep 5k throughout, every day until end of Period on 28 Feb! 5k is small to me, but I will not play this game as I can easily earn more than 3.2% pa with another bank without stressing myself with this nitty gritty tnc!

Looks like DBS is adding “SI” in front of the description.

It is showing up as “SI SI - CIMB” in my CIMB statement. Does anyone see that? Not sure if it will invalidate the condition
hmmm idk why but mine is showing "SI SI" on the app, without the "CIMB". also GIRO from DBS. I couldn't seem to add any description when setting up the standing instructions from DBS online banking.

I called CIMB and the CSO said it's accepted since it's "SI" from a non-CIMB bank via GIRO.

I called the bank. Mine Double SI SI without CIMB will not be eligible.

But I see you got the magical 4 letter CIMB there, it should work. This bank is damn weird, they just want to see your remark CIMB hahaba
strange, mine also double SI without CIMB but the CSO said it's eligible.

which bank did you setup your SI from? mine is DBS.

Since we on this topic of SI, do we need to do it every month to be eligible for 150 ? Or any month before 31 Dec 2024 will do ?

I xfer from POSB. Good to hear they accept SI now without the description. :)

cause for Sep and Oct, initially I did not receive any additional int when my description was SI SI. Subsequently after calling the CSO they managed to help credit it and advice me to put under comment to recipient "SI CIMB"

to be honest, I'm not 100% sure if the CIMB CSO can be trusted.

I can't seem to add a description or comment ('SI - CIMB') when setting up GIRO SI via DBS (I don't have POSB account).

And via UOB, the UOB CSO said it's not possible to set up GIRO SI between UOB and another bank, only FAST SI (or, FAST "Recurring Transfer").

a bit worried that CIMB may not recognise the 'SI SI' thingy, not just for the extra 0.5% interest, but also the $150 promotion :\ I just joined CIMB this month so have no experience prior to this.

Yes, it is lame. A SI, it is what it is lo.

Just put under comment to recipient :) if they just want to see the CIMB 4 letter word, you better give it to them ;)
