Is Nov a good time to visit cingjing? the previous time i went to taichung i dont have time to go...

According to the driver I've engaged, Starry is located ~1800m above sea level. The journey up there is terrible. I've been to Taiwan umpteen times, and this is the first time I traveled on non-tarred roads up a mountain. Maybe I am unlucky... During my 1.5 hours journey from bottom of mountain to Starry, there's slight rain and fog. The narrow single lane roads up the "silent hill" made the experience even more uncomfortable.

There's much hype about the friendly owners. However, I think this is operated much like a motel without much interactions. Some of their recommendations aren't good as well. E.g.
- Mr Lee recommended a driver to ferry me from Taichung to Starry, and this is what the driver quoted me "費用上是TWD6000元" for a 8 seater van. In the end, I found my own contact from another HWZ thread for only NTD 4500 from Taoyuan instead of Taichung!
- Journey from Starry to Cing Jing: Mr Lee said he provide one-way journey only. I.e. We need to check-out to go Cing Jing and go back ourselves to collect our luggages. Likewise, I asked my that driver to come back fetch me and paid him NTD 3500 for a one whole day tour from CJ Farm to 3 other attractions to Sun Moon Lake to my hotel in Taichung.

My driver told me there are over 100 minsu up there. Maybe the rest can try others and give reviews? Many of the drivers can give good recommendation on the ones popular among locals. As to which one, ask any trusted driver :)

Personal experience about 3yrs ago

i have stay at misty and starry before
starry is indeed overated , i dont find starry owner much friendly
and the room is like some kind of modified shipping container box
i went november , night was very cold , muz hide under the eletrical blanket
toilet is cold i dont dare to bath at all

After checking out starry , went to check in misty , misty was much better , and the room is warm enough not to hide under blanket whole night
The owner is friendly , love their breakfast , and pets to play with

im going to cinjing again next month , booked mistyvilla only

Is there any makan place near Misty villa that is walkable distance other than 7-11?

Hi anyone stayed in STAR VILLA before? Is it near to eateries or other amenities?

Staying 1night in cingjing. Leaving taipei for cingjing in morning then go grassland after check in. What to do in afternoon and evening? Heard swiss garden renovating.. and still got carton king? Still got where to go?

Weekdays cingjing many people? Moving around in bus but not sure if crowded or infrequent.

NO car means zbl.
Or just roam ard the skywalk area.
Weekdays a lot of normal tiongs, ajuma, ahnoneh etc.

Staying here next month. Hahaha.
But I got driver.
Not as near attractions as Misty. Just go Google maps can tell alr bro.

By the time u arrive CJ, it'll be around noon. You probably can stop at puli for food before going up CJ. I spent half a day walking around CJ, grassland, etc. No need to take bus or transport in CJ as most of the attractions are within walking distance to one another. But you may need to take transport to/fro your accomodation.

Where to go in CJ? just google for CJ blogs. Lots of reviews out there.

Any reason why you chose this place? Instead of say Misty which is nearer to most amenities.

How's your itinerary? I would be in Cingjing estimated on 3 - 5 Dec.

Misty fully booked the day I wanted. If not I would have went there. LOL.
Idk leh... I see traveller's photos on TripAdvisor one. That's usually one of the main deciding factors for me. Price, distance all factored in as well.
I booked the Vienna cottage one at first.
Then realized since I got driver whole day. No need stay so near accoms bah, so decided stay somewhere where I felt the view would be nicer.
Heard best view is starry villa, but I see looks abit old already. Mine is star villa.

I think u too slow la , usually i book 6mth in advance de , when booking just open
