Cingjing minsu

Hi friends,

Im going to 1st time visit in cingjing for 3d 2n on may with my girlfriend, so i need help with this 3 minsu,

1) Star Villa MinsuSTAR_VILLA
2) Sunnydale Minsu ????_????????_?????(???)
3) Starry Minsu which alot of local recommended.

as my itinerary is plan this way

Day 1

• Take HSR to Taichung (Staying in cityinn)
• Yimin Yizhong Shopping Mall
• Carton King
• Feng jia night market

Day 2:

• Morning 7-8AM Breakfast, pack, Checkout
• Take public transport to Cingjing(see sheeps)
(take e-gobus or nantou bus)
• Check in to minsu
• Cingjing Farm, Small swiss garden
• Sheep Farm, Fruit picking
• Dinner and back to minsu

Day 3
• Sunrise
• Wuling, biyu, Hehuan shan(take e-go bus, sunrise trip or half day trip to be booked or book by minsu)
• Green Green Grassland
• Recreation Center
• Lushan hotspring
(e-go bus to be arranged via minsu)

Day 4
Going to taipei~

which minsu will be the most suitable for us? and do i need any form of transportation to travel around cingjing?

please help!

Just came back frm Taiwan. sunnydale's room is quite big and has nice view can see old england frm the room at 3rd floor, however they dun provide transport back from cingjing. Is a roadside walk of 15-20min or public bus from little Swiss garden/carton king. noted that no dinner is provided as well n bring light luggage cos u need to carry 3 levels.no lift.

Starry minsu, I stay there last year, is the highest minsu at cingjing. The room I stayed is pretty simple. Not sure about e view as the day I stayed was very cloudy.the steamboat dinner was good for my preference.

If u have no budget issue u can try this
Minsu call 明琴。they have their own farm which is quite interesting.but I have not been there bef.

i think there is different rates for starry minsu, depends whether peak or not

I was quoted NT1980 on a Sun night stay for end April next month. If you do not want the steamboat dinner, it is NT1875, please inform them beforehand.

Fri & Sat night's stay would be more.

personally, it seems homely to me, not something very fantastic or any wow factor but decent lahzz for the price its offering compared to other minsu, i think starry is one of the most decently priced ones

Hmm, will be nice to try taroko gorge for the morning bah. Best will be to rent a scooter from one of the rental shop next to hualien train station, then scoot around scenic view along the taroko gorge route.

You must go wuling and biyu or must go during july? I not sure about wuling and biyu, but for the summer period, I think Hot-air balloon in taitung will be good (from June to August). I personally wanted to try that as well as the Sky lanterns.

I just came back from Taiwan, and stayed in Starry minsu. Personally, I think Starry is overrated. There are over 100 minsu on that mountain to choose from...

According to the driver I've engaged, Starry is located ~1800m above sea level. The journey up there is terrible. I've been to Taiwan umpteen times, and this is the first time I traveled on non-tarred roads up a mountain. Maybe I am unlucky... During my 1.5 hours journey from bottom of mountain to Starry, there's slight rain and fog. The narrow single lane roads up the "silent hill" made the experience even more uncomfortable.

There's much hype about the friendly owners. However, I think this is operated much like a motel without much interactions. Some of their recommendations aren't good as well. E.g.
- Mr Lee recommended a driver to ferry me from Taichung to Starry, and this is what the driver quoted me "費用上是TWD6000元" for a 8 seater van. In the end, I found my own contact from another HWZ thread for only NTD 4500 from Taoyuan instead of Taichung!
- Journey from Starry to Cing Jing: Mr Lee said he provide one-way journey only. I.e. We need to check-out to go Cing Jing and go back ourselves to collect our luggages. Likewise, I asked my that driver to come back fetch me and paid him NTD 3500 for a one whole day tour from CJ Farm to 3 other attractions to Sun Moon Lake to my hotel in Taichung.

My driver told me there are over 100 minsu up there. Maybe the rest can try others and give reviews? Many of the drivers can give good recommendation on the ones popular among locals. As to which one, ask any trusted driver

Tarako is at Hualien, either you book driver to go from cingjing to tarako which set you back about 5000nt or you can head back to taipei via hsr then take tra to hualien and then to tarako which is a lot cheaper but about 5 hours of travel time

i would suggest for day 4 to stay in taipei area

It has been recommended as it has been stayed before. Likewise u been to kl, i supposed and of course they have many hotels too. And what you recommend may not be to my liking n cost does play a part. If u have more than 10k nt a night, old england is ok too. So dun get too critical abt it. And of course unless u been to cingjing many times, thrn u can surely recommend something damn good then, but due to bad maintenance and upkeep, now become super lok kok.
