IMHO.
My Zym plan is the 4G plan which still give me 5G. :devilish:
Right now I am on legacy Singtel 4G with Eight 5G for normal use.
EIght 5G coverage is not fantastic, my usual locations sees a lot of switching to 4G.

If eight 5G is not okay for you, I tend to think CL 5G (or M1 Maxx 5G) will not be good for you either, as they share the same 5G infrastructure (at least the Radio Access Network).

But you can always try CL 5G to see if it performs differently or not. M1 4G network may be less congested than StarHub. So CL may have an advantage here when 5G signal is not good and fall back to 4G.

I oso using CL 5G as fibre BB replacement. But due to new house location, the signal often drop to 4G. Am thinking shld b switch bk to fibre BB a not

I will say just use Fibre Internet in this case.

The worst Fibre Internet service will still be much better than the best 5G Internet services here in Singapore.
1) much better latency
2) much faster upload speed
3) usually faster download speed (not always), especially for wired connection.
4) Not using CGNAT if you go with SingTel, M1, StarHub, WC and eight.

Main benefits to use 4G or 5G is to save cost here in Singapore. But if the signal is not good at your new place, then no point already.

I mean even it will fall back to 4G for the fibre it is till usable just that it's slower when buffering.

Like what U said, it was to save cost that's y I switch to SIM card router

In the end it is whether it is more important for you to have a more smooth Internet experience or more important to save about S$15 to S$20 per month.

Different people may have different opinions on this one.

Advantage is that you can move the 5G router around. Once you find the correct location, you just have to pipe bandwidth to the rest of the house - should be easy because you should already have wired LAN points?

E.g. My 5G router could be in the bedroom 1 with the best connection. I will use bedroom 1 lan point to linked it back to the DB box into a switch. I can used wired connect to cheap Access Points to get good coverage around the house - e.g. one access point in the living room, one access point in the master bedroom.

A single 5G usually can't cut it.

Basically a 5G SIM Router may not be good enough in terms of WiFi signal coverage for a typical flat, since usually you cannot put it in a central location for WiFi.

Usually you will need to put in a place with better 5G signal, and this location is usually not at the centre of the flat.

But for the lucky ones who can use single 5G SIM router, then good for them. For example, some users may use wired connection for main devices, and they are okay with lower speed for the other wireless devices.

On the other hand, even for those who use Fibre Internet, often single wireless router is also not good enough and they may need extra mesh node or AP. For example they may have to put the main router in the DB box for the room LAN ports to be functional.

Not updated.

Telcos are not really updating the 5G compatible list now that all the 5G phones officially available in SG market should be compatible with SingTel, M1 and StarHub 5G networks.
The list is correct in my case of a pixel 7 pro and iphone 12, both 5G phones but no 5g connection unlike the same M1/Circles SIM in a Samsung and Oppo on the list.

Edit: So I called helpdesk for troubleshooting and they referred me to the list. lol

That is why I used to run MOCA and powerline. :ROFLMAO:
Now I just need to run AP.

M1's 5G works with a limited list of devices. Anyone knows for sure why?
it depends on individual phones, not every bandwidth is supported
I have an export set phone that is meant for middle east region
doesn't work with Simba 5G and limited Singtel 4G, M1-Starhub 5G works at slower speeds

better to get your phones with SG warranties to ensure compatibility with local telco

Not just that. If you look at the list, entire models are excluded.

the model that I have is included in the Simba compatible list
but it didn't work with SImba because it isn't a local set

I wouldn't rely too much on their lists because they are slow to update; latest models are often left out
the lists contain a lot of old models that you can only get 2nd hand :s22:

New models supported they would say, eg. fold 4 and newer. But if old models not even included, what's chances are there that it would work - so it is user's own risks not to heed the list.
