Hmm, received a call this morning claiming from UOB wanting to verify whether I made a major Shopee transaction. The guy knew my hp, full name and nric, but I cancelled my UOB cards many years ago.

Wonder is it related? 🤔🤔

It must be my lucky day. Had another call just now claiming from OCBC fraud department. 🙄 Indian accent lady this time. Wanted to know whether I authorize purchase of $3K gaming laptop transaction 10min ago. I told her go ahead. I authorized it. Can hear her being stunned at other end. 🤪

She asked again and I confirmed once more. She then asked for my name. Told her you can call my number you dunno my name? She promptly hang up.
End of Entertainment. 🤷‍♂️

Oh my, she's actually that pretty ah?

Hmm, I'm having second thoughts now. Guys, I think we might have too hastily judged her. Even though she has been found guilty, there's a very real chance that it could all just have been a misunderstanding. She even lost 10k of her own money and could be suffering greatly right now!

:(

Annnnnnd this is why there are no jury verdicts in Singapore.

If there were...

All pretty/handsome faces are innocent, no matter the crime.

All ugly faces are guilty, even breathing wrong deserve the death penalty.

Why not say that the court and spf would be scammed by them as well since they apparently accept that was what happened? And please, I have no relation with tiong kok, why would I care about gong an?

Anyway, whether it is true or not, it shows that she is unreliable at best when it comes to handling sensitive info.

:(
Haha the more u comment, the more I'm sure of my original conclusion.

Court and spf don't believe her that's what charge yah.
Why are u bringing urself into the picture?
U are really gullible to believe that she herself is scammed.

Erm, "bring myself into the picture"? You were the one who dragged me into it by saying that I would be scammed. I replied to that in particular.

You seem to misunderstand the case. They did not charge her because they didn't believe her. They charged her because it is a serious matter where a trained personnel like her should have exercised better judgment when it came to handling sensitive info. In other words, her "claim" is not a valid excuse even if it is real. By putting the whole "I was scammed" into the statement of facts, the court and prosecution is essentially accepting her claim that she was "scammed", just that they don't think it is a valid enough defense to go unpunished.

Just like a person who punched another in "self-defense" could be charged due to it being viewed as excessive and not necessarily because the court/prosecution doesn't believe that it was done in self-defence.

The court cannot proceed to convict a person if there is any material part of the statement of facts that is in doubt.

As for my own view? I don't really think that she was "scammed". I believe it was voluntary to an extent.
