Actually till now I also never see any LLM model made by Singapore. I don’t know where did all the Nvidia GPUs used on or resold to.

I remember Singapore bought tons of Nvidia GPUs like 40% ish? We must be happy to not drop to tier 3 considering recently got caught reselling GPUs to china

it's quite easy to move all these things one..

1) singapore buy Nvidia chips
2) Singapore sell nvidia chips to Malaysia Data Center
3) Malaysia Data Cener verified by nvidia installation of the big GPUs done.

2 operating models.
1) Data Center GPUs can be used by anyone who is willing to host their servers within the data centers
2) Data Centers offers GPU computational ability to any remote locations willing to pay for the services.

AND... we are and always have been a BOOKIGN CENTER for revenue! coz of taxation.
So, it makes sense for MNCs to billed the chips to customers in singapore but used elsewhere as mentioned

From ChatGPT:

The Biden administration has introduced a new framework regulating the export of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips, aiming to balance national security concerns with economic interests. Under this framework, approximately 20 key allies and partners are granted unrestricted access to these chips. These countries include:

  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • South Korea
  • Poland
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan
  • United Kingdom
These nations are exempt from the export caps imposed on other countries, allowing them to access advanced AI technologies without restrictions.

The framework also establishes a tiered system for other countries. Nations not included in the list of key allies will face caps on the amount of advanced AI chips they can import. Additionally, these countries may need to apply for special licenses to access certain AI technologies, depending on their classification within the framework.

This strategic approach aims to prevent adversaries from obtaining critical AI technologies while ensuring that trusted allies have the necessary resources to advance their own AI capabilities.

Singapore receive no love from USA?

So Nvidia's latest RTX5090 will be controlled and limited in Singapore?

Anyone can confirm if this is true from ChatGPT?
________________________________________________________________
As of January 13, 2025, the Biden administration has proposed new export controls on advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips, including Nvidia's RTX 5090, to prevent adversaries from accessing critical technologies. The framework introduces a tiered system:

  • Tier 1: U.S. allies and partners receive unrestricted access to these chips.
  • Tier 2: Adversaries face complete restrictions.
  • Tier 3: Most other countries, including those in Southeast Asia, are subject to caps on the total computing power they can import.
While the specific list of Tier 1 countries has not been publicly disclosed, it is anticipated to include close allies such as Japan, Australia, and European nations. Singapore's status under this framework is not yet clear. If Singapore is classified under Tier 3, it would face limitations on the amount of advanced AI chips, like the RTX 5090, that can be imported. This means that while the RTX 5090 may still be available in Singapore, the quantity imported could be restricted, potentially affecting availability and pricing.

Nvidia has expressed concerns that such restrictions could impact economic growth and U.S. leadership in technology. The company has stated that a last-minute rule restricting exports to most of the world would be a major shift in policy that would not reduce the risk of misuse but would threaten economic growth and U.S. leadership.

It's important to note that these proposed regulations are still under discussion and have not yet been implemented. The final details, including the classification of specific countries like Singapore, will be determined once the framework is finalized.

I will personally lead a private business interest group of industry captains to meet at trump mar -a-lego club and play golf to discuss special trade exemptions propose more solutions like licensing and end-user keys to secure such strategic goods instead of restrictions. I will bring along exclusive bak kwa and made in singapore hawker specialities to win his heart and charm him with singlish

Great. This will force more people into researching for low computing AI model.
Once one is used to taking intellectual property from others and getting it in an easy way, it will be more difficult compared to others who start from zero but had healthy mindset

habits are hard to change

They will become the biggest losers. They think Singapore cannot manufacture AI chip?
