Once you got used to the 6 hours trip each way, it is a good getaway.
As a member, I get 12 free complimentary room and a transport subsidy of RM100, RM200, RM500.. per month depend on membership tier.
You could bring RM500-1000 to spent your weekends. Thats what typical sinkie spend locally.

I also go test my luck, many perks.. free meal vouchers and free concert tix if u earn enough tier point.

I am a Singaporean uncle in mid 50s.
Malaysian were default Ordinary Tier (Red) Card, while SG citizens and other foreigners are minimum Silver Tier.
I was Silver Tier before 2020, after Covid, automatic Gold, now Platinium after having >1000 tier points for straight 2-3 years.

Since my first few visit to Genting as an adult, I already booking my own free complimentary room since 2020.
Before, I was just a tagged along visitor as early 2008 visiting once yearly, thats before Genting major renovation, kids too young to play indoor thrill rides.

5am to 8am sleep all the way to Yong Peng..
Wake up to eat Ramly Burger or Nasi Lemak at Yong Peng.
Bus left YP, continue sleep until reach KL for toilet break.. and another 1 hrs around 1130am reach Genting.
Predictable schedule.

I am happy with the extra cash RM600-2000 from my lucky streak, if u know how to play safe in casino.

No waste.

Won at casino plus shopping at Watson lotions for my wife, the multivitamins for me which are 50% cheaper than SG.

You be surprised how much it cost to call a grab to go Genting from JB.
Its under RM500 on a typical day.
If 3 pax, thats under S$60, 4 pax cheaper but squeezy if with backpack luggage.

Next time i could wake up late, take RTS to JB, then eat breakfast then Grab up Genting.

Maybe can hitch a free bus ride back to Johor from Genting. (Genting got this complimentary scheme)
If not, cheap RM35 707 10am bus to JB Sentral, then RTS. Reach back SG before 7pm.
