PHV are the one who pushed the COE prices up. The costs is 100% pushed to their renters.
There should be a separate category for PHV drivers.
PHV car owners must proof that they are using it as a public transport, clock in certain time daily to prevent misuse of it.
Chee hong said no wor...if force to do it he will take cat a quota and give to the new phv category...come bk to square one...chee hong jin smart pawn sinkie again

Chee Hong knows nothing one....
## Major Logical Inconsistencies

1. **Correlation vs Causation Fallacy**
- Minister Chee argues that because PHC companies' successful bids decreased (26% to 10%) while COE prices increased, PHC companies aren't a main driver of prices
- This logic is flawed because:
- It doesn't account for the possibility that PHC companies were priced out of the market
- The remaining 10% could still have significant price impact through competitive bidding
- Price increases could be partially caused by the previous high participation (26%)

2. **Contradictory Policy Logic**
- Minister argues creating a separate category is difficult because PHC demand varies quarterly
- However, this same variability exists in the current system, yet is managed
- The argument against separate categories due to demand variability contradicts the existing system's ability to handle variable demand

3. **False Dichotomy**
- The minister presents only two extreme scenarios:
- Moving "too much" quota (leading to higher prices)
- "Underestimating" quota (leading to insufficient supply)
- This ignores the possibility of:
- Gradual adjustments
- Dynamic quota allocation
- Hybrid systems

4. **Internal Data Contradiction**
- The minister uses decreasing PHC participation (26% to 10%) to argue against separate categories
- Yet simultaneously uses this same decrease to argue PHCs aren't affecting prices
- These are potentially contradictory uses of the same data point

5. **Circular Logic on Classification**
- Argument: Hard to classify PHCs because some are used as private vehicles
- But the current system already requires PHC registration and licensing
- The existing classification system contradicts the argument about classification difficulty

## Questionable Assumptions

1. **Market Behavior**
- Assumes current market distribution reflects natural demand rather than price barriers
- Doesn't address whether the drop in PHC participation is due to being priced out

2. **Quota Flexibility**
- Assumes a separate category must have fixed quotas
- Ignores possibility of dynamic quota allocation based on market conditions

3. **Data Timeline**
- Uses 2022-2024 data when prices were already high
- May not represent normal market conditions or true demand patterns

## Notable Omissions

1. **Previous Policy Changes**
- No mention of historical policy impacts on PHC companies
- No analysis of how previous quota adjustments affected market

2. **Alternative Solutions**
- No discussion of hybrid systems or partial separations
- No examination of other countries' solutions to similar problems

3. **Economic Impact**
- Limited analysis of how PHC availability affects public transportation ecosystem
- No discussion of broader economic implications of reduced PHC fleet

They should just make it mandatory for buyers to bid themselves for the COE, win le then go shopping for car. also separate car loan from coe loan rather than bundle them together.

Tiagong not confirm. If you go to dealer with your own Coe, you will get turned away. Unless you buying dunno which supercar brand then they expect you to bring your own Coe.

He's really lack common sense and reading his data all wrongly, these COE are meant for people in Singapore, of course we are the majority. And he is using proportion and percentage instead of the amount of foreigner and PHV bids to argue his point, this doesn't make sense because obviously they are the minority.

He should use the chart of number of increased bids by foreigners and phv. He is just using data to confuse and gaslighting the parilament 🤦‍♀️

Wait ah.... Isn't COE bidding decided by highest bidder?
No matter how many percentage of bids is car leasing companies or foreigners, as long as they make a very high one, the rest GG....

And anyways, car dealerships doesn't sell car without using their COE bid so still GG.

They really want to boost birthrate should create a family class and only allow those with 3 or more kids to bid and put 80% of supply there

talk about selective stats. Based on his stats, does it mean phv companies and foreigners were responsible for high coe prices pre 2023 since he say it has went down?
