Mirrorless for sure!
No matter what frame you are in, mirrorless will always be the 1st choice if you are newbie.

mirrorless aps-c as always. cheaper + better image quality.

sony a6400 + tamron 17-70mm f2.8 or sony 16-55mm f2.8. if need night shot, can get sigma 16 or 30 or 56mm f1.4.

Was in that exact same dilemma a short while back thinking of whether to buy back DSLR or mirrorless to replace my 14 year-old EOS 5D. Since mirrorless is the future of photography, I bought these on Wed and very satisfied, though have no time to go out for a proper shoot yet.

Depending on what you want actually it should suit your needs more, compact easy to bring arounf
