Where is this 30GB promo?
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/redone-debuts-in-singapore.6049052/post-142453178Looks like promotion ended, now is for another plan.
Where is this 30GB promo?
Agree. When I was with GOMO and Singtel SIM-Only, they were all high priority data over the past 4 years. But not in the recent few months around my place. Cellmapper also showed fewer base stations, so suggesting that they repurposed some base stations for 5G. When I was using Vivifi, it wasn't enough data to speedtest wily nily, but the few times I tried, they seemed to be the first tier, but also observed the slowdown towards the tail end of my time with Vivifi (before I ported to Giga some 7 weeks back. When I was on GOMO 90% of the time my experience (typical download speed) was within the 4G column (1st column).
My best download speed is about 180 Mbps and best upload speed is speed is about 70 Mbps, which only falls within the 450 Mbps 4G column (4th column).
Most of the time typical speed is 1/3 to 1/2 of best speed.
Anyone on Singtel or Singtel MVNO actually experienced typical download speeds (meaning 80% or more of the time) anything other than the 1st column? If yes do share your telco and the plan on that telco.
Of the list you showed, M1 has the best value. The issue is whether their coverage works for you.Hi I'm looking for a SIM below $20. I've done a list. Any suggestions which is the best choice and if you guys have a suggestion do add on. Thanks

Bottomline, what are you looking for? Data? Call time? How much? It's hard to give you suggestions without knowing what it is you are looking for.Hi I'm looking for a SIM below $20. I've done a list. Any suggestions which is the best choice and if you guys have a suggestion do add on. Thanks
From my experience, Data Passport is the easiest way out of getting connected overseas. It's value for money and save my troubles in sourcing for foreign sim cards and understanding its telco terms etc. I can also share over 100gb of data with the person connected through my Mobile Hotspot. The only problem is the quality of data in different locations and making phone calls. Other than that it's considerably good for long vacation.TBH, if you are willing to use a mobile hotspot, there is no reason to use data passport. For most countries, you can easily get a local prepaid SIM card at a fraction of the cost of the data passport subscription fee.

The 6 for 6 promo ended on 31 July if I'm not wrong, unless they extended again.Only to preach what I practice...
ZYM18 one year contract free 6 months @$18/mth + free Viu premium x24mth. So doing the math I pay $9/mth in 12mth with 50gb/mth.
Giga $10 with 10gb (promo going on now). I signed this mainly because it provides VoLTE and I can receive sms while overseas.
Two SIM cards complete by turning on Auto data switching function in my phone.
If going on cruise to port klang and Penang, can I activate M1 data passport? From my experience, Data Passport is the easiest way out of getting connected overseas. No. Don't think about cruise and aircraft to have cheap internet if at all.If going on cruise to port klang and Penang, can I activate M1 data passport?
Would it work when in international water?
So better use cruise wifi package? No. Don't think about cruise and aircraft to have cheap internet if at all.
For cruises and planes, it's near impossible to rely on cellular towers as they cannot be built where ships and planes operate. For these, satellite service is the only reasonable way to provide any connectivity unless your ship hugs the shoreline and can receive cellular tower signals. Satellite service is very expensive and does not need to lend itself to any roaming agreements - if you're out at sea and absolutely cannot do without Internet, then they expect customers to pay the premium. So better use cruise wifi package?

We're far too dependent on connectivity. You can always use your data while on land if you need to settle things quickly, but while on ship just stay disconnected and enjoy a book or something.Personally, I would agree with easy, but not value for money. From my experience, Data Passport is the easiest way out of getting connected overseas. You would be able to 'roam' close to & in port (both Klang & Penang). If you must be connected, your only reliable option is to pay for onboard internet. If you are taking Royal Caribbean, they regularly run sales on their on-board packages. If going on cruise to port klang and Penang, can I activate M1 data passport?

In my last itinerary, I paid 40Ringgit for Maxis SIM and 200Baht for Dtac SIM. That total up to more than S$10 after conversion. Do you have any recommendations for Malaysia and Thailand prepaid cards to share?Personally, I would agree with easy, but not value for money.
Which & what SIM card to get is generally a 10 min Google search. Plenty of people writing about the cheapest & most cost effective prepaid SIM card to get. Tbh, end of the day, we are talking about savings of a couple of dollars here or there, maybe $10+ max for some countries on the $30 data passport list. So, it's really not a big issue.
But, personally, having a local number is super helpful so my preference is to go with prepaid cards.
(That & I loathe to have M1 line anyhow)

What does Free Roaming mean? Thought auto roaming is always free just that you use as you pay? Unless in this case is different?Of the list you showed, M1 has the best value. The issue is whether their coverage works for you.
Why not exactly $20 with StarHub SIM-only and NTUC or CIS?
https://www.starhub.com/personal/promotions/starhub-ntuc-promotions.html#simonly1
60GB (100GB for first 3 months)
Unlimited Calls
1000 SMS
Free Caller ID
Free Roaming
3 months Amazon Prime
Else, also consider Vivifi Plus $11 plan ($9 + 2) for 20GB of data. Or Giga's $10 for 10GB popup plan.

Haven't checked Malaysia in awhile, but OneXOX seems to keep coming up here when talking about MY roaming, although that seems to be more useful is you travel to Malaysia semi-regularly.In my last itinerary, I paid 40Ringgit for Maxis SIM and 200Baht for Dtac SIM. Although I've ditched M1 and TPG, but I still love them. Maybe I'm a Telconizer...

Yes, it can.ZYM cannot receive SMS when overseas?
