Agree. It is unfortunate that cyclists are allowed on highways such as Nicoll Highway and West Coast Highway. Cyclists are only banned from expressways.

The authorities should reclassify / upgrade these highways to become expressways. Cyclists would then be barred from these roads. Cyclists have no business to be on these fast moving roads.

their 2 legs maximum how high speed.
why r they even allowed on roads that are not 'normal roads'
by right if more than 70kmh shouldnt even allow them to be on such roads.

our roads have up/down slope. dangerous for cyclists and too tiring for them on long distance.

Why on earth will any cyclist go on Nicole highway? Those who cycle at small roads inside neighbourhood area still can say they use it as a means of transport & for convenience etc

Those who go all the way to cycle on expressways are usually those who wear tight spandex and swing their bike left right like tour de france kind of cyclists right?

In any case, I don't think an expressway always needs to have a 90 km/h speed limit. Some parts of the current expressways have lower speed limits.

honestly in singapore road it is not for cyclist because a few reason.

1. the road is too crowded with vehicles

2.there not much cyclist lane on the road.

3. road user drive very fast and dont care about other road user

4. cyclist also have this mindset like they own the road and sometimes cycles in the middle of the road

Cyclist could go on cycling path in park connectors. Or try take precautionary measures. Some times they cycle in the middle of the lane, exposing them to danger.
