Sometime the traffic light is not consistent. Like one lane already red but take 30 seconds for other lane to be red. Sometime ppl rushing thought all red already but actually no.

Then there would be far more accidents!

I think at the end, when he was up and limping unsteadily, it might be possible that he fractured something. Maybe not a serious fracture but still something that needs to be addressed by a specialist and possibly operation intervention.

Even as a cyclist myself who has done like over 30k mileage now already (also a driver for a very very long time), i also could not see fellow cyclists sometimes even in broad daylight till the very last moment. And we all know the exact reason, which is also played out in this instance.

Actually if people ride as if they are driving a car, defensively and signalling / communicating and using hand signals with thank you gestures etc and not in big groups and actively giving way simply coz it is just impossible to sustain > 40kmh in such traffic conditions, no issue one (less some aggressive and impatient drivers, in which it would not matter be it you are in a car/truck or bicycle). Yesterday i was doing the whole while base ride and then coming back on major roads like Commonwealth ave west to Jln Bukit Merah to Eu Tong Sen, not a single horn. I have done WCH before but seriously not interested coz i witnessed a rather bad cycling accident not too long ago + that stretch (totally zero cover exacerbating the issue) during morning has very bad sun glare which would overpower the vast majority of bicycle rear lights.
