[CONSOLIDATED] Errant Cyclists Thread

[Redcapiscum]

Most cyclists have the mentality that when they ring the bells, ppl gotta give way to them. Then when ppl dun give way, they buay song.
The purpose of the bell is only to alert the pedestrian that there is a bicycle behind them niah.
If they are in such a hurry, then they should just cycle on the road.
But then and again, they won't cycle on the road coz they are scared that they will be knocked down by vehicles. Tsk tsk tsk.

Have some is dont ring bell, and then buay song.

I ever encountered some fella laughing at me with his friends because i didnt know where he is coming from

I’ve ever seen so many PMA speeding around sounding horn and going on pedestrian pavement. Then boomers riding it will curse at you for blocking their way. This is all absolutely normal, nothing to see here.

Think if the path is wide enough. Why not. Both should be able to pass each other by safely without bothering each other much. But often is pedestrian walk like drunken. Drift from left to right, right to left, if not walk in center, thus take up the whole path. The bell often is to warn them bicycle passing through, don't yo-ah-yo anymore. If not, wait is not bicycle bang them, but they bang bicycle.

And think cycle on the road or not often is more about route decision. Some direction against traffic flow how to cycle on the road. Some the destination going to is along the path, or use the path more convenient and faster, why need to use the road.

If cyclist wants to use the road, then they have to give way to pedestrian coz they have a choice to use the road but they dun want to.

If cyclist rides on the road, the vehicles will give way to them.

Its the same logic.

Its goes both way. If the path is wide enough, give what way. Each goes their way. Both sides have to automatic abit. Don't hog the path. Only when come to narrow or intersection then follow the rules give way.

Not taking sides, but think the story often is not so one sided one. Those unreasonable one forcing their way through asides. If not too bias not to see it, often cyclist rang bell is cause the path wide enough but the pedestrian hogging the whole path.

So, have to rang bell to warn them bicycle passing through don't knock into bicycle. Cause they swing all over the place, don't know when will hit something. Especially those on the phone, cannot predict where they going any moment.

Don’t over take confirm path wide enough. Don’t know why cyclists expect others to move away for them to overtake. Want to overtake give you a football field also not enough.

Erm, all along bicycle is can cycle any where except expressway. And all along bicycle is share with other users one. Its only later with more people cycling, especially the increase use of ebike, that lead to more conflicts, and more people kpkb, that there became a differentiation of sort. And perhaps also local way of dealing with it, forcing people to play nice, which lead to more conflicts in unexpected ways.

Ban overtaking on pavement can already. Where is the need for overtaking.
