I feel cringey with PAP using a dead man to canvass for votes and Ah Gong will be turning in his grave when he sees his son milk him gao gao

If Singaporeans really so easily manipulated, then really got nothing to say,
At end of the day, you vote the government you deserved.
Anyway I have always been cautious about opposition chances in this election.
It depends on what topics are the OPP bringing up for their rally speech.
I guess the white side provided enough screw-up for the OPP side to present.
As for tariff issue, the task force is already set-up.
Dun think they can dwell it too much.
They can promise the sky but Trump is not under their control.

Politicians are thick skinned and shameless. They will do anything to strengthen their grip on power.

It’s a double edged sword for opposition as always. If they tried to capitalise on PAP blunders and seeks to put them in bad light during rally speeches, people will say they are opportunistic. Then for a responsible opposition like WP, they always try not to appear too overly critical of the PAP but rather put forward their own ideas. Something like the Iswaran saga can put PAP in a very bad light but fence sitters will not like that opposition brings up the bad side of PAP to win votes. But if PAP were to cast doubt on Pritam Singh lying saga during election rally speeches, they will always get away with it.

i think what they intend to achieve with the task force is to give the perception to Singaporeans that they are working very hard to find solutions to work around the impact that the tariffs would create. It will most certainly work in their favour to certain extent, perhaps a nationwide swing of 2-3% in their favour,

Very hard not to vote fot PAP when TV keep on showing Ah Gong here Ah Gong there everyday
Voting for PAP means every year Christmas there will be fare hikes.
Things will keep becoming more expensive.
All the current issues will not be look into and will not resolved.

I fully agree with you.

If PAP's vote share increases, there will be more fare hikes and hikes of anything that can be hiked.

PAP will say voters have given us a strong mandate, so we are going ahead with all our hikes as Singapore trust us enough.

So, if you don't want more hikes, you cannot give PAP a strong mandate.

Remember PAP's slogan: Majulah PAP, Majulah Singapura

Party's interest comes first before country's interest.

From past episodes of PAP claiming things have been done legally with no conflict of interest, observant people already realized this PAP of now has lost its moral or ethical compass. As long as anything is legally correct, public perception of justice or equality or ethics or whatever can be brushed aside.

Workers' Party Chairwoman Sylvia Lim and new face Jackson Au join XQ and Tharun to discuss the need for opposition voices in Parliament, what position they would be if WP was a football team, and how the party has dealt with its setbacks since GE2020.

Why Singaporeans Are Volunteering for Political Parties

“You have to manage your work, your family commitments. Yet you're putting time aside to volunteer—and you're not being paid for doing this.”

From students to working professionals and retirees, more Singaporeans are stepping up as political volunteers. But why do they do it? RICE goes behind the scenes with a few volunteers to uncover what really happens on the ground—and how the experience has changed the way they see Singapore’s political system. #ge2025

[Editor’s note: For this video, RICE sought a balanced representation of views across Singapore's political spectrum. While we reached out to both ruling and opposition parties, we were unable to secure an interview with a PAP volunteer. RICE does not endorse any political party in Singapore.]

It’s so easy to confuse the Government of Singapore with the PAP. I mean, they’ve only been running the show since, what, forever? It’s practically tradition at this point. Why bother with details like separating party and state when it's all just one seamless, tightly choreographed performance? And the PAP? Oh, their humility is simply breathtaking. Always listening, never defensive, and definitely not acting like they own the place. But hey, if people enjoy handing out blank cheques to the same folks year after year, who am I to ruin the party? Personally, I’d rather have someone toss a new idea into the mix — even a slightly risky one — than keep nodding along with the same old choir. But sure, let’s keep marching to the same beat and pretend it's innovation.

Keyword - Competence.

The fiasco and saga are caused by incompetence and being complacent.
They are facts.
Nothing to hide from.
This is their report card and track records.
The basic reason why the OPP is needed to provide the basic check and balance.

As for the task force, the members recruited dun give sinkie any confidence that they are capable of resolving it.
End up it have a negative effect.
Truth be told, the previous guy assembled a team of managers and fan holder.
They are unable to resolve any unexpected crisis cos they are not fire fighter.
The model answers in their ten years series cannot be used any more.

I am not picking stone from the eggs.
Just commenting on what I observed from my limited observations.

What is wrong with renaming Marina Bay as Marina Bay ?
They are all from the same echo chambers.
The new recruits are also the same.
So, we will get sama sama results.

Pay and Pay

they make policies to take more money from us and make everything expensive.
None of them will speak up for Singaporeans. All of them are Yes Men who work for the Cabinet Ministers who have the final say.

It is good news for the residents cos the hawker centers that they visit will be scrub for 7 days before the VVVVIP land.
Dun have to worry about any rats.

WP’s Gerald Giam says MRT commute is one of the ‘most relaxing’ parts of his day

Netizens praised the MP for staying grounded and connected to everyday people.

WP’s Gerald Giam says his MRT commute is one of the ‘most relaxing’ parts of his day

On Wednesday (16 April), Gerald Giam, the Workers’ Party’s (WP) Head of Policy Research, gave his followers a glimpse into his daily routine with a TikTok video titled “A day in the constituency in Aljunied GRC”.

Mr Giam, who has represented Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2020 after the WP’s victory in the area, documented a typical day that included his constituency work, meeting residents, and commuting by public transport.

In the video, he shared that he takes the Circle Line to MacPherson, then transfers to the Downtown Line.

“I find it much more relaxing because I just want to catch up on my reading,” he explained.

Finds driving exhausting after a long day

While he used to drive, Mr Giam admitted that it became exhausting after long days of Meet-the-People sessions and house visits.

He also pointed out the financial benefits of public transport, as it helps him save a significant amount of money.

In addition, Mr Giam finds the journey home to be one of the “most relaxing” parts of his day.

Netizens praise Gerald Giam for being ‘grounded & in touch’ with the public

Since posting, Mr Giam’s video has garnered more than 14,000 views and hundreds of likes.

Many netizens were impressed by his simple commuting style, praising him for being “down to earth” and “approachable”.

Another user quoted the saying “lead by example”, adding that even ministers should take public transport from time to time — just like most people do — to better understand the experience.

One user even shared that they’ve spotted Mr Giam on the MRT several times, praising him as a “good, hands-on, and down-to-earth” Member of Parliament (MP).

thats why this could be another watershed election.

If they still lose another 1-2 GRC with so much advantage in their favor, it spells bad for them.

If they win back at least Sengkang GRC and keep all the remaining constituencies, I guess most Singaporeans will give up already hoping for change from then on.
I don't think Singaporeans give up on changes. PAP is greedy for profits, increases many things and created higher COL.
When Opp asked the ministers for data and they patronize with rubbish replies and talk down.

Good video. Opp volunteers are brave as they might seen as 'dissidents and people who hate the PAP'.
