SMC is no longer easier to win these days. With exception of opposition held SMC, most of the SMC that are carved out from GRC usually are precincts that have shown higher level of support for PAP. If Hazel Poa thinks the likes of Jurong Central SMC, Queenstown SMC or even Pioneer SMC is easier to win than West Coast Jurong GRC, she is very much mistaken
Yep, very fair assessment.

And PAP SMC candidates are seriously impressive, mainly because all of them do alot of groundwork. In SMC people are more concerned with bread and butter daily stuffs on the ground over whether the candidate will speak about national issues in parliament not. If you realised, most of the candidates PAP send to SMC are very affable to old ppl like TPL, SXL, Amy, Gan Siow Huang, Grace Fu etc. Almost impossible to win. Even LTK go there 1v1 also hard.

Which begs the question, how does anyone know which ward voted more in favour for a certain party? What happened to your vote is secret?

What is a good team though?

WP don't have that many candidates to begin with. They actually reduced the number of contested seats in 2020 compared to 2015.

To think Raeesah Khan was one of those chosen to stand for election still bothers me to this day.
Girl is a good actress. Even old leaders also betray and still tell lies to harm them.

No matter how much background check you do on a candidate you interview, even in normal work, sure got one or two actors escape and come into the organisation.

Your vote is still a secret, nobody knows who you vote for. But because there's different counting places, they know which counting place got which results. So you know exactly this 20 blocks opposition win or incumbent win.

I'm not sure is it just a facade or has he actually learned his lesson?
Good thing is CSJ has definitely matured and no longer that confrontational. One thing for sure is he care for Singaporeans, Singapore and wants to stand up and speak up for us. He literally has nothing to gain for constantly doing all these hardship everyday walking the ground in the hope one day he will be able to speak up.

He is a doctor, he previously earns a lot, his single cafe now also doing well, live in a good landed property. What for need to get into parliament for the meagre salary an opposition MP gets?

I think Singaporeans should look past the history with CST also. Even CST himself said he forgave CSJ and they are friends now.

How did Workers’ Party react to winning Sengkang GRC from PAP? Why do we still need to increase GST? Why is a one-party system no longer ideal in 2025?

In today’s podcast, we invite Sengkang GRC MPs, He Ting Ru, Jamus Lim and Louis Chua, for a deep dive into Singapore’s political landscape, including what it’s like to be an opposition party in Singapore, what to expect from the opposition heading into Singapore General Elections 2025, and whether the vote YOU cast is truly anonymous.
#generalelection #singapore #politics #dailyketchup

Thanks for sharing. This is a really good episode.

I hope CSJ can appear in one episode. SDP is lacking very badly in terms of social media these days, falling way behind against PSP.

One thing for sure, WP don't really care or won't even entertain negotiations with motley crews like Desmond Lim. They will just contest wherever they want, up to others whether they want to lose deposits not. So far EVERY 3 corner fight involving PAP and WP, the 3rd party lost deposit. 100% success rate lol

Correction, he's a professor of psychology. I don't know where he used to stay but now home is a 3 room flat. He sold off his previous residence to pay off the lawsuits from both previous PMs.

I'm not sure why he is so adamant about being elected, some people have a thirst for power that money can't buy.

A few things about Chee Soon Juan that doesn't sit well with me.

1) He talked bad about Singapore in the past when he was being prosecuted by the government
2) He proposed to reduce spending on defence or abolish National Service

Didn't know the 2nd point, in the case the more admirable he is.

NS is a total waste of money. Firstly it really hinders our real talents in many fields (sports, music etc) and 2ndly anybody who gone to NS knows how much taxpayer money those stupid f wastes. From food, to resources, to people's time. Even when you don't want to eat, have to scan so business get paid for nothing.

During reservist also the same, indent like 500 packets of food just to immediately throw away. Literally once they offload from lorry just throw into dustbin.

Do people feel proud by serving the military? When you can't find a job, you are left to die. The state won't even care if you sleep under the bridge. Is there pride serving the military? When you started your uni. studies later than your peers, your working experience will be lesser than your peers too. The private sector is very realistic. They don't even care whether one has served in the military or not. What they care about is your salary and working experience.

I have no issue serving the military but the state should look after them when they ORD. What the state does is to leave it to them to compete with foreign talents in Singapore.

When there are any crisis, the foreigners and PRs will book the earliest flights back home. To them, Singapore is just a gold mine to make money, that's all.

I disagree.

NS is necessary, because without NS there would be no defense and defense is the one commodity that Singapore can't outsource. Just look at what happened to Ukraine.

The execution of how NS is being conducted can be debated, but Singapore cannot afford to have it completely removed.

That for me, is why Chee Soon Juan doesn't deserve my vote. He was portrayed as an opportunist and his populist slant seems to affirm this.

I am talking about reducing NS spending. Not that we shouldn't be buying the newest fighter planes, but the general staff and MISC spending. It's horrendously wasted.

Lim Tean is 100% goner as he has lawsuits, charges and POFMA against him and too loud and confrontational
Y we want to V oppo in?
We don’t want oppo in for the sake of having oppo

We want to have a check n balance…
WP doesn’t seem to have done it…

So it defeats the purpose of V them in.
First, we need to V CSJ, LMW, HP & LT who will truly b the check n balance …

Then we need the no of Oppo from WP to help make the no counts

Again, we need our voice heard and only CSJ, LMW, HP & LT dare and will …

Not all the civil serpents or other private sector executives introduced on ST or CNA will become PAP candidates

oh fk off with this stupid strawman argument with Ukraine or wherever a war is taking place. Such a brain dead uneducated encik take.

What if you were 16 - 18 and your father made you stand guard outside the house at night because he saw a few news articles of housebreakings?
While your sister gets to do her homework and do part time jobs to earn extra income, you have to waste your time guarding against an imaginary thief like a condo guard. And to rub salt to the wound, he invites over a bunch of cousins to stay with you for free, and promised you would guard them with your life.

Taiwan is having confrontation and is technically at war with China, yet only has 6 months of service. So I call bullsh*t that we need 2 years of NS and ten years of reservist.
