My guess is PAP is building up their story now due to US raising tariffs then once after elections, it will not be their fault to raise GST.

The fittest survives. If they get pushed out of their constituency by WP and SDP, they must take a look at themselves and ask why. If they have been growing as a political party, then seriously the other parties won’t push them out. No strategy, no direction, little efforts to walk the ground and what they do is to cry out that they are being bullied and to insist going on 3 corner fights.
3 corner fights will be even worse for them. Each time a party loses a deposit or poll less than 20%, they risk slipping into oblivion as voters will not take under performers seriously. If I were them, just take SDP offer and go Holland Bukit Timah. At least with a 1 on1 contest, quite likely they still would be able to poll 28-30% and won’t look so bad
RDU alr took Holland Bukit Timah. If NSP go in now they look even worse

Personally feel the same way as well, Tambyah can contribute more as an opposition MP than Liang as a PAP MP. Liang is not part of the inner circle (most probably will not be) plus there is always the party whip present, thus he is unable to speak out as much as opposition parties does.
Yeah Liang is not considered a heavyweight member of the PAP. He can’t do much and have to toe the party whip. Tambyah have offered very constructive ideas and proposals so far. Hope BP residents give him a chance this time. It is now or never.

Red Dot Party is willing to withdraw if there is 3 corner fight because they need to be responsible to their donors to spend money wisely and keep their deposit. As for PPP, PAR and NSP maybe they have mystery donors that use their party to wash money so they don't care about losing deposit
from NSP POV

nsp have to contest 2 GRC in this GE

if they pull out, they will cease to be relevant as a political party in future

If he still lose, with the deck so strongly in his favor then might as well retire for good
