I dunno how they screen candidates but current 4G leaders really cannot make it.

So many elites but cannot talk/low EQ can represent their people?

At least she is walking the ground.
Not sure about the rest.
Think certain perspectives see, can't help feel they are doing it all wrong. Yes, incumbent have provided many avenues to so called help people. But almost non of them really brings it to the people. Especially in the social aspect.

Much, if not most of the common problem and solution facing people are already in the system. But the system is such that they generally expect the people to naturally know and come to them. Not they go to the people.

Thus the gap in between perhaps. People who need help might not get. People who get help might not be what they need. These are all so confusing and unpleasant for the ordinary people. Many won't even know what and where to start or if they need help. They just suffering in silence and slowing lamenting the system.

Alot of the MP are just creating new problem and help from what they see on the outside. When many of the problem and thus help are already in the social system. Like subsidy, grant and such for doing certain things. Just that alot are too dense for many to really understand what is what.

Thus think the MP job should be to be the facilitator they suppose to be. Find out what many and most of the people need in normal daily day to day living. What can make their living and life easier inside people house. What sort existing help inside the system is viable for them. Not just superficial outside stuffs like common public property improvement.

Then consolidate the information and resources, and bring it to the people instead. If necessary, get contractor and make use of the size to get things done at people home at much more discounted price. Like what they do for upgrading and such. But in a more social aspect. They need to get into people home, the so called help. Make it more personal, yet public where everyone can benefit also.

Think if know how to be proactive, make use of whatever that are already available inside the system, the subsidy, grant and such. They don't really have to come out from their own pocket much. Just some. But they would go far to make more people happy with their effort. Cause its more personal.

Think if the opposition were into it. They should sell to the people what is available in the system. Make use of what incumbent provide. Sell how they can bring those to the people. No need everything start from zero.

That’s what i have been saying when some speculate it could be held in July. I mentioned that no way they will hold elections more than 3 months after release of the electoral boundaries report
2020 was more than 3 months, i guess that year was exceptional due to COVID

2020 was the only exception. Yes, likely due to Covid. With Covid, opposition can’t do much outreach anyway as large gatherings was discouraged.
most of the time it’s held within 8-10 weeks from release of electoral boundaries report

Yes. We need a first officer who can speak up, against the captain if necessary.

It is okay ! Turbulence or clear skies .
You need clearance from Air traffic control (ATC aka voters ) for you to land or depart.
I hope they land at a very steady rate meaning a lower percentage and some pilots depart with some fanfare

hard truth is that meritocracy often works

and capable people tend to earn comfortable salaries

surely you want capable people in your parliament

this is not a dig against opposition. look at your opposition MPs and see what kind of jobs they used to do...
Erm, think perhaps should read on, The tyranny of merit. The problem with meritocracy. It works because many think it works. Especially those who made it. But not so much for those who work hard the same but didn't make it. :s22:

What you shared is what the advisors are supposed to do.
However, how many of them are really putting the effort to do the outreach if they are holding a full time job at the same time ???
It is not forgetting that some of them are also monitors.
If you ask me, it is too much work.
I will rather do the wayang for a few months and be the VVVIP for every events.

As for OPP tapping into the resources, I guess they still need the white advisors to provide the assist to make it happen.
How helpful can the white advisors be ?
I dunno.
