Not only HDB is in a big mess, the removal of UK Cambridge exams might put sg in great disadvantage in the world map in employment and in seeking entry to overseas universities

Brilliant policy, really — let's make every Secondary 1 student own or bring home an iPad, because clearly what kids need is more screen time. Naturally, once they're glued to these devices like it's digital crack, parents are left wondering why their children are up until 2 or 3 a.m. every night. So, parents complain to MOE, only to be comforted by the ever-reliable "Don’t worry, the iPads auto-lock at 11 p.m."—which, of course, is completely false. Then comes the classic finger-pointing routine: MOE says it's the schools' job, schools say it's the parents’ fault for not doing this mysterious “onboarding” on the exact right date — because obviously, parents are psychic and know the school’s internal timetable better than the school itself.


And just when you think it can’t get more absurd, schools give parents another random date and expect them to handle it like pros, while they quietly bow out of the whole thing. Many parents are now discovering that schools have basically thrown in the towel on managing the iPads. Meanwhile, MOE still insists on sending iPads home with students, because heaven forbid MOE limit their use to actual school hours. Oh, and let's not forget the real winner here: Apple. With every student needing an iPad, they’re probably having a good laugh all the way to the bank. It’s comforting to know that the folks designing these policies are clearly operating from a bubble far, far away from reality.
